i filmed a movie on my buds hi-8 camera and his camera cant hook up to the comp so i took the tape and put it in my dig-8 camera, but nothing is coming up in play/edit mode? does that always happen or is something messed up?

i dont know, it worked for us, all the footy from my camera was hi 8 and we loaded it w/ scotts digi 8 camera. i do remember some problems though

if its on vcr mode on the camera then it should work. ive done it a long time ago. it just does like a 2 sec conversion

hmm are you sure the firewire is properly connected? check to make sure your computer recognizes the camera. you may also need to instal drivers.
