my friend (snowboarder) was in it last year and was throwing down by far the best of anyone and a little skier who was doing mougle style 3s beat him.... the comp isnt good
i heard from people who went last year at keystone too, and they said it was alot better this year. the big air wasnt a "BIG" air..but alot of kids were getting fucked up and alot had to be taken to the hospital. it was fun though...lots of things to do at the mountain
Ahhhh - your just jealous. 2 out of the 4 that vail sent made the team. It is an excellent comp based on all around skills. the best people made the team. They evened the team out with girls and snow boarders.
BTW 100 of the 150 entrants were skiers!! I think that says something in itself.
anyone who is supporting this competition has obviously never competed in it. Its a matter of how much of a suck up you can be to the judges. Half of your score is based on whether or not u have a good atitude. I Went to that shit last year and was not impressed. The judges are horrible and the dude that runs it is a jackass. I know I sound like im hating super hard, but its just my opinion. I actually did have fun at the comp but i thought a lot of things could have been changed.
ya i mean i spread eagle won basically except for that sketchy no grab flailing 9 which beat cork 7 tail, but i mean i got to be in a torchlight parade, oh but that was gay too
my friend won it. kyle smain. he was also the guinnie pig for the timing of the flames they shot up.
my other friend tosh tried a switch cork 10 in the big air, but fell
not really "talking down", we are all skiers, I was there and scrutinized all the aspects. The rules were layed out at the finals. they were fair. My kid made the finals but did not make the top 25 team. How many comps post the scores?
I still think it is very noteworthy that in the qulaifying events we went to riders outnumbers skiers 3 to 1 and in the finals at Killington it was the other way around.
On the note of an 8 yearold beating out the 13 yearold... yeah he should. I mean the comp. is looking for very raw talent at younger ages... potential talent I suppose.
Cam is so smoooooth. he was also very fast around the slalom gates with no race training, thats raw talent. BTW he is the one looking straight at the camera.
