Bear Creek will barely be open past next week. The place is a joke. The warm spell at the end of the week will wipe them out just like the warm spell turned the whole place to mud in January. The place is the ultimate definition of ghetto.

Creek stayed open until the second week of April last year. How long did BARE creek stay open? Also, Creek has already said that they plan on staying open through March.
Bare Creek = the best tubing hill in the east! HA HA HA

I really have a hard time seeing how they are gonna do it. Don't get me wrong, I would be beyond stoked to have a mountain in PA to ski into April, but I was there in January during the warm spell when the ponds were empty and there were bare spots. I don't see how its going to survive consecutive 60 degree days in a week or two, not to mention todays mid 70s temps. I know they can try to build up the base on one run, but after a point pushing it around just melts it faster. Why are MC kids sooooo bitter?

have you looked at their webcam lately? they are hurting pretty badly for snow. its a great idea, but they arent going to last much longer than another week.

Blowing now isn't going to make that much of a difference in terms of staying open for many more weeks. Sure it will add a nice layer of snow for the next day, but whatever they blow in one night will disappear the next day with mid 50 to 60 degree temps. Then when it isn't cold enough to blow the next night, they lose alot right there. Right now is when the base they they've been blowing all season comes into play. Sure this week looks nice at night for blowing, but forecasts aren't calling for it to last through the weekend from what I've seen.

i wont try to say how long we will be open i dont know, but i do one thing, tommorrow we will be building our tubing park super park, theres one heck of alot of snow over there and id have say that snow over there will last quite a while, as for bare spots, we have our snow in piles which means every other day or so we recover the bare spots when weather seems the best, id say were in pretty good shape considering weather, pray for the best! well keep the parks riding nice as long as were open!

The april park isnt going down. I read it on PAskiandride.com. One of BC's head guys over there said that they wont be making snow this weekend in there, and said hope for next year.

Montageskier was referring to the General Manager of Bear. The GM also announced that Scratchaholic will be toiling all summer long on new features! Get to work! Let me know when the lifts are open for grass skiing this summer, would ya!!

it doesn't matter how much they blow now it is all on how hard the ice pack is. which in PA i don't think it get that hard any where. Thats y ski areas in pa nj and ny can't stay open late in the season. Snow melts faster than ice it all scientific
