Is it harder to 270 off a box or rail and which would be easier to learn on?

a rail. your skis grab a little with the edges, and its easier to set the spin.

it would seem easier to 270 off a box because boxes are easier... but then again thats my logic haha

it would be, but your edges dont grab lexan very well, which is why they use it for boxes, but it also it harder to get the pop to set the spin

boxes dont grip them edges, so unless you've spun on, rails are def easier to spin off.

how about spinning off shot gun rails instead of just flat rails... is it harder cause the shot gun rail is rounded?

urbans are harder, theres no cushiony snow if you bail, and usually no landing. theyre the same as any other rail once you get on, except it wasnt designed to slide. kinks could be really steep, whatever. shotguns will be no harder, just different.

so the overall message is that if i was going to learn how to 270 off i should find a small little dinky flat rail to do it on... with some of a drop at the end... correct... or is there something else easier to learn on?

you can pretty much 270 off of any rail no matter what the height so just find a small rail, doesnt even matter how tall, and just work on spinning of

i guarantee you that spinning off of a rail is easier. you can set your spin, unlike on a box. on a box you can just slide around, and when you go to spin, you can't set it because there is so much there, and it's so wide. a rail you can lock on and edge and give 'er

rail easier, box requires throwing hips while rail can initiate from the legs/arms whatever just throw them, you'll fall twice and then barely get one and then have it.

I think it is easier to 270 off of a rail than a box not really sure why but it just is for me. I think it is easier to 270 onto a box that a rail though .

Wow, that came out wrong....Easier to 270 out of a rail....harder to off a box because the spin feels forced from your hips.

practice by just jumping off the end of a jib. you quickly learn that jumping off a rail is alot easier. 270 out on a rail is the way to go.

alright yeah i have a question too, it seems for me that the wider the jibs get i cant 270 off. i can 270 off a handrail easily and flat bars but a box, no way. idk wat i need to do but anyone else have this problem?

rounded rails are definately way easier than flat bars too. A little double barrel would be good to learn on, althought if its too short you wont have time to set your spin so it'll be harder to learn, and if its too low you want have enough air time off the end. I'd try it on the biggest rail that you can consistantly do

My first 270 off was from a rollercoaster rail. I can do them off most things now but I think boxes are a lot harder.

rails are easier. , essentially a round rail would be the best, because you have the least bos, which means with a slight move your edge has the "wall" off the rail to push off.

its just ahrder to balance. so essentially a rail is, but theoretically a round rail is.

The rail you can lean and put more pressure into you spin....I think box's are much harder

tell me if im wrong but it would be easier to blindside on a box then just 270, cuz u could get ur momentum going pretty easy just by the way u attack it.

yea once ur switching up on boxes then its not hard to spin out . it feels forced if u just try and do a plain 2 or 4 out

rails are mad easy to spin of, go try to just regular lide a wide box and 270 out, no 270 on, its alot harder than on a rail
