First off...why does this guy not wear a helmet...honestly...his 245ft huck he was helmetless as usual...
Second...after that huck, he was quoted saying "I'm done. I'll never jump another cliff over 50 feet" ....Who believes it? I don't.

he never wears a helmet and i can see his point- if he hit a rock or something from that height, a helmet would do nothing- it would explode along with the rest of his head.
as for his claim to not huck huge again, i doubt it. he might not go over 100' again, but i can't believe that he won't go over 50' again.

in the summers he used to work landscaping for a guy i know out in utah and he said that jamie would sometimes just randomly drop and have seizures from the trauma. 245 feet is just rediculous though. aye carumba

he was sorta fine... walking back up to hit it again he started getting siezers. no doubt the dude is fucked up... gotta respect him tho, i dont know anyone else that would jump that far on skis.

Hehe, that seems to be the reason why he has WAAAYYYY to much confidence in being able to do anything he wants. I'm not religious myself, but if I was I wouldn't rely on God to save me from death on a regular basis. I hate to say it, but I almost wish he'd just get hurt to give himself a check on his attitude.

yeah, major props for jaime, if his faith in god gest him goin helmetless of 245' then good for him, and good for us cuz we get to watch, (does nebody have the video?) but as for him never going over 50, idk, i dont see how hes gonna resist, i read his article in skiing magazine and it sounds like hucking is the way he survives day to day, kind of ironic i think

one of my best friends had a similar experience in utah three years ago. the helmet was completely shattered and hisskull was only scraped because the helmet took the brunt of the force and made his head glance off the tree.

jumping off a 245 foot cliff even or a 500 footer is the same as hucking a 90 footer. Once you reach full velocity you cant fall any faster. it has the same effect on the body. Its just in the mind. And he is who he is, he doesnt have to wear a helmet if he doesnt want to.

there was an article in skimag about him and he said, the reason why he doesnt wear a helemt is bc hes old school and when you jump cliffs that big, a helmet is not going to save you, it in god's hands. hes very religous now. and theres no way hes done! he thinks cliff jumping is the next wave of skiing. hes not done

you are speaking of terminal velocity, which is nothing like you said it, it is the point in which the resistence from air is equal to the force of gravity, making acceleration 0, and you fall at a constant velocity. basic physics, also if you actually knew about terminal velocity, you would know that one would have to fall WAY more than 500ft to reach it, 500 is not even close. so to say that hucking a 90 is the same as a 500 is moronic. ask your physics teacher, and he'll tell you the same thing.

I'm pretty sure that if you went off a five hundred foot cliff you would hit terminal velocity, or at least be damn close to it. The terminal velocity for a skier is less than it would be if you were just thrown off a cliff because skis have a lot more area than your feet. The more surface area, the less the terminal velocity. Jamie didn't reach it on a 245 cliff, but I think he would reach it (or at least be within about a mph) off a 500 footer.
