my room mate from last has offered to put me up for a few days in tignes (im now at uni) - saved for ages for 3 poxy days, and the fucking skys open and ruin it. theres too much snow. i mean jeez, my christmas hols were ruined by a lack of the bloody stuff!! im off on monday and ill make the most of it, but im gonna spend arround £200 and half the resorts closed, including the park. right, sorry - rant over
I completely agree. I skied 100" of new a couple years back and I definitely would have been happy with more. You're a skier, you should not be placing "too much" in the same sentence as "snow."
lol, cant ski in snow drifts taller than you are, if u wanna take some be my fucking guest. its well over 6'ft in places - most of the lifts are shut - do u even understand what im saying?! lol, im sure its gonna be time of my life. last year i could ski everyday, now im lucky for 3 days and i get a closed resort.
Yes, I do understand. It's called a faceshot, it's ok to get your face wet every once in a while when you go skiing. You should try it, it's really fun.
my resort just 11 fucking feet of snow...i was almost creaming myself when i heard we got 3 feet one day 4 feet the next and more and more each day...so SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TO MUCH SNOW THERES ONLY NOT ENOUGH SNOW...SO SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!
man, get fucked. if "too much snow" is your problem, you need to get your sad ass to Michigan- where i am- and then tell me which you'd rather have. if your issue is that you can't ski park now, fuck you- learn to ski elsewhere and quit bitching about how much snow you have. you have no fucking clue how lucky you are to have all that snow.
the resort is closed - only the beginner runs leading directly into resort are open. i cant hike as i dont have any safty gear at all, and cant afford any as im going into big debt just to go, and ill be on my own (my mate is working after all). heli skiing is ileagal in france and back to my other point i have no money. only 2 lifts are open, and they just lead to the top of the baby slopes. any other ideas are welcome, but in my mind my hols have been screwed by too much snow.
im there for 3 days, plus ill be honest i am a pussy - im not a fan of skiing on my own, with no saftly gear in the place where a friend of mine died not 3 months ago. the resort wont open while im there, i dont live there, this is my last oportunity to ski on snow until next dec. im sorry but i think im justified in being bitter.
easy we get "too much snow" in the pacific north west all the time, alot of the time the slope isnt steep enough and its one hell of a hike to get out of some runs, plus a ton of wet snow is really really hard to ski in unless you have skis that are 120+ in the waist.
Yeah, there is too much snow for the norhtwest anyways. Since the snow is so heavy and we have like a 13% water rate the snow is a lot heavier and prone to slide. And my home ski are maxes out at 5000 feet. So whenever theres too much snow, they just shut down the ski area so people dont bury themselves.
we have problems with like 10 foot tall tree wells at mt bachelor when i snows too much. I would hate to be on mt bachelors park crew, they are always having to dig out not only rails but tables out of all the snow.
Uhhhhh....ok. Check out the archived snow reports for Bridger Bowl two years ago right after christmas. Also, when you're skiing powder you aren't sinking down to the bottom, on that day(and the following days) I was sinking in to about the chest/neck area. This is why powder skis exist.
Hmm I guess u have a big problem!!! When all the lifst are closed I dont even think there will be any locals up there cause of the danger. I guess the only thing u can do is to make ur own jumps at the baby lifts or do some urban jibbing...
don't attack the guy. he's right- the whole resort is closed for high winds and massive avvy risk. think how you would feel if you couldn't ski the only three powder days of your season.
also, stop with the whole SHUT THE FUCK UP kinda shit, it don't make you sound cool...
