Replying to Shin bang info
i researched this extensively:
shin bang is the opposite of kablamo and cowabunga
shin bang is actually the front of your shin as opposed to the back, thats when you land back seat or butter way the gnar and when your shin moves back forward the realease of pressure causes shin splints.
i started getting shin bang when i started doing 360s on bigger jumps, which is rather un-kablamo
if you are getting it just quit being such a fag and dont do shit backseat, taking off with your back straight and arms out help alot, or just land everything switch
when you first start getting it you should tighten your boots but if its really bad tighten the bottom and losen the top of your boots and just dont do jumps for a little bit. if you have it and are too much of a thug to take a break from skiing there are a couple things you can do. but taking a week off really helps. I have had friends who lost all of the hair on their legs and took all summer to get rid of the bruises.
i ski everyday and never took i day off when i had it back. if you wanna get rid of it just ice alot, and if you can find it, there is this massage oil stuff called arnica oil that is aparently good for bruises. i used it and i think it helped but it isnt really essential. ice is the best thing though. if you can find them, booster straps help get rid of the bruises while you're skiing. but the best thing in my opinion is a little pad thingy called 'the eliminator', but if you cant find those, soft soccer shin gaurds do the job. different boots help too. salomon 1080 boot are straight up gansta when it comes to avoiding shin splints. aparently advil gets rid of it temporarily. just try to never land back seat. that is what makes the biggest difference. aswell, skiing good jumps helps too. if you have any suggestions add. peace.
