so i was skiing my little home mountain which really shouldnt even be called a mt. more like a mogul...but i was talking to the manager and she said that they were really doing badly financially speaking. She said that she wouldnt be surprised if they only had a few more seasons left. Now this place is quite small but has major potential. my idea is to make the whole place a park mountain...but i dont have the capitol...it located just north of NYC like 20 minutes and like i said MUCHO potential for a kick ass park mountain...just wanted your feedback suggestion etc.

that wouldnt work, imo. who rides park? kids.
who has money to pay for passes (in general) not kids, parent.

and are parents just going to say, hey kids, ill take you for a day of skiing at the terrain park.

it would be a sick thought, i just dont think it would fly.

talk to some people around there about it and see wut they think...if all else fails..u have a pretty big rail park about 20 minutes from that "mountain"

well some places survive on terrain parks alone, but it depends on the hill and the surrounding hills.

yeah dude....see what you can do...you could always try to do like a survey at the mountain or something...what the usual customer would want to see happen with the mountain

basically the nearest mountain is creek which is a lil more than an hour northwest, and my mountain has a shit park right now which is always packed and i know more ppl would go if they had more to offer park wise...

if you really dont want to see your mountain fail volunteer there. it sounds like you know some one high up so get a job working in the park and make it nice.

thats the problem i already do work there...i spend a shit load of time working on everything with a few other guys but they keep fuckin everything up by groomin it wierd and since its jersey theres a major lack of snow because they have very little snowmaking capacity, and with a very low budget we cant buy rails or boxes that are even semi nince so we cant get any decent things goin

i live in CT and i ride in VT but when i want to go night skiing me and some freinds go to sundown

if u go there they have other runs to but they actually have a descent terain park which takes up 75% of the mountain so most people that are there are kids skiing the park

thats about 90% of the people that go there is for the park

not to be a dick, but if you cant spell capital right, you probably wont be able to run a ski hill.

but if you feel like you can, find some investors and go for it!

yeah i was gunna ask the same thing its in mahwah right? i live like 20 min from there ive never skiied there tho from what i hear there is like 2 lifts and like 4 trails?

if theyre doing financially bad, then it would be real risky to try to make the whole mountain a park mountain, if less people go to ski there then theyre screwed, but it would be sick and i would go there everyday

wow, they actualy have a park, about 3 or 4 jumps, they didnt have that wen i was in 5th grade
it would actually be pretty fun if they had more jumps and a few boxes, boxes are always fun

start a collection from people that ski park to but scrap metal then weld them a rail. just have a big box that says 'PARK FUNDS' and if other kids care at all you should get something

yeah seems like a good idea but i have to agree with the other guy and parents arent gonna take thier kids up to ski a park all day unless the parents are 40 yr old crazy bastards who also ski park
