hey, im planning a possible trip to colorado fairly soon. i was wondering if you guys could help me decide what mountain to go to. i would like somewhere that has reasonably priced lodging and lift tickets for about 6 or so people. i looked around on websites last night, and it seemed like aspen snowmass, and copper would be moderately cheap.
anyway, if you have any suggestions that would be great.

Crested Butte! cheaper than both of those places, and ALOT less people

what type of terrain do you want to ski? Will you have a car when you are here?

im not sure, i am just figuring out if everyone will even have enough money to make this possible. im guessing we would fly and rent a car, but im not sure. i would be going with people from my race team, so park doesnt really matter that much, but i would like some steeps.
thanks for the responses everyone

If you are going to be renting a car it opens up more options for affordable places to stay. If you get a hotel in Frisco, Dillon or Silverthorne you can ski Breck, Copper, A Basin, and Keystone. It is about 15 minutes from Frisco to the free parking lots in Breck and Copper and a little farther to A Basin and Keystone. I've stayed at the Best Western Lake Dillon Lodge (in Frisco) before when a friend and I needed a cheap place to stay. I've also got some friends who have stayed at the place next to it (sorry, I forget what it is called) because it is a cheap place to party. I think your best bet is to get a hotel about 15 minutes from the slopes in order to save money. Snowmass is really far from DIA and it will cost you a whole lot more to fly into Eagle, which is still almost 2 hours from Snowmass. The Butte is awesome, but it is nowhere near Denver and flying into Gunnison isn't cheap. Check out the other threads in the COlorado forum and let me know if you need any other information.

how much for a night usually? Next season, I'm gonna have to live in the Fort, but I want to train at Breck's pipe at least 4 days a week.
