So I know that their are a lot of people on this site that are not followers of Christ. In saying this I am not trying to condemn any of you but instead I hope to inspire you to start thinking about your relationship with your creator. Our Holy God is soo awesome that he sent his one and only Son to die for us. Jesus died so that we could be free of sin. This doesnt seem to extreme to non believers but let me tell you it is the most incredible thing to ever happen on our planet. If you are struggling with some crap in this world, God can save you from it. No problem is to big for Him. He is ready for you... take a step towards following Him. If you have any questions or want to talk more about this just send me a message. There is also a cult called Ride for Christ which is all about giving glory to our incredible God. thats cool that you have such a strong belief in god, i dont know if god does exist, but i know believing he does has helped alot of people i know, and sometimes belief is all people need. props for being open about your beliefs because on a site like this talking about religious things is often shut down by alot of haters. peace dude.

you feel how you feel, but for some people its just to hard to look past the 2000 years of curruption, war, and predujust that chirstainty and other religions have brought on. yes we would all like to think theres some getter "power" but the reality is that many people see how religion CAN be a horrible tool of manipulation war and brainwashes.. im 100% behind spirituality. but the mass control of religion, not so much

did everyone know that the idea to have jesus portrayed as the son of god came as a direct result of a very close of some people heading a new religion called christianity. that's how all the decisions were made that people like the creator of this thread follow so closely. it's not healthy

eh, I don't think the power of christ or god saves anyone, and I'm a quaker. only you can save yourself, and if christianity helps, thats great, but the real key is showing kindness to others. if people go throughout their lives with everyone treating them badly, what incentive will they have to treat other people well? try showing patience, compassion, and restraint of your anger every day. Let someone out in front of you when you're driving. Hold the door for someone. Give a homeless person some money. That does a lot more than babbling on about how great god is to newschoolers. the problem I have with you is that on a certain level, you label yourself as a Christian to feel exclusive, hence the cult.

trust me, i have nothing against religion. infact i used to go to church myself, but decided that it wasnt for me. maybe one day something will happen that will make me want to go back and until then i would appreciate people not pushing it on me. i'll make the decision if i want to and dont want someone else to make it for me

I thought that pretty much sums up my views on god. lately I have been thinking a lot about death and I never was very religious, infact I thought that organized religion was a scam. But the thought of dieing and becoming nothing scares me deeply. If science is 100% right then at death we simply shut down and end and that is what scares me. So the only way to live on is make an impact on the people you interact with on a daily basis. This is the basis of both the bible and other religious books such as the Koran. However these religions never follow their own teachings look at what is happening in the muslum world over a cartoon.

So to sum up
1. Organized religion, religious fundlementalism, and blind following of religious leaders and ideas is in my opinion are very foolish and leads to the downfall of people and cultures.

2. Believing in something and being good to your fellow human and creatures on this earth is good.

3. The muslim world is fubar and so is our own christian fundlementilist goverment.

4. The movie Contact kicked ass.

All of modern Christianity is a randomly contrived version of it. In the years after Jesus's death there were several groups that followed and documented the teaching of Jesus (Pharisees, Sadduccees, Essenes, etc.) and they fought and killed eachother over their beliefs. The group that killed the others passed on their beliefs to modern Christianity. This doesn't take anything away from Jesus himself since this all occured after his time, but it does undermine the current state of the religion.

The Bible is a very random, incomplete, and corrupted collection of writings that were written by man, and assembled arbitrarily by a group of Christians to support their own view of the Gospel.

member of the year award for this guy. I think christianity is a lot more than what he said and truthfully a very odd way to live. But talking about beliefs is a very hard thing to do, but not a bad thing as long as you're willing to continue to talk and think about things.

You're right you don't have to be good. But I would expand on this second thought with; what if there are no intrinsic rewards for the good you do, would you still be good? Basic Christianity, or living as Christ, is self sacrificial, no intrinsic rewards.

Being a born again christian myself i have to say that you have my respect for putting forth such a topic on a website whose forums usually consist of people bithin at each other. The mountains that i play on everyweekened are a constant reminder of how awsome God trully is. But i must remind you that you have to be carefull in how you put forth your ideas. So many people resent christians because most christians are stuck up, self rightous, hypocrits. Most people dont understand that God is not out to get you. So next time you head up to your local mountain try and remind yourself to thank God for giving us such a great sport and such a great lifestyle to participate in.

No, I do understand the meaning of intrinsic, but good guess. I'll try again and if I am, let me know I'll be humble enough to except it.

Christians, are following a story, wether you believe it is true or not just ponder with me, They follow this man who died supposedly for them. Not because he deserved death but because they did. What or where are the intrinsic rewards in this? Remember to just ponder on this, not the whether or not you believe the story.

Yeah I totally agree with you on the promise of heaven and I think many christians put way to much importance on it. I believe christianity has more relevance to live than it does to death. Jewish belief does not describe a heaven or a hell because they were to focus on the present. I think that's a great focus.

Wrong! Mountain ranges are formed by either volcano activity or when the earth's plates collide and over millions up years the force of them coliding pushes up a mountain range. A good example of this would be India and the Himilayas.
