I enjoy getting tattooed, it doesnt hurt like some people will tell you. Some spots will bite a little like the elbow and ribs but for the most part its tolerable. After 5 hours it gets to be a bit much...

The worst thing about it is paying for it. Carefull starting big pieces my arm was about 2k and its not totally done. I have friends with very large pieces outlined and they ran out of money so they cant finish. I want a skiing themed sleeve on my right arm to match my maritime themed left but I dont have the 2500 bucks to put into it since I just bought a house and have a wedding to pay for this fall.

hell yea. like it. i am waiting until i get out of school (parents wishes) to get tattooed. i still don't know if i want a strictly edge tattoo or not. it's my life (sxe) but i don't like to show it to the world. i might just get my edge tattoo in a place that i can cover.

I didnt get my edge tattoo until I was 25. I am 26 now, graduated college and still am edge so I dont think I am going to break. I have been for over a decade now and my fiance is too so I dont have to deal with some of the BS I did with girls in the past about it. I am not really outspoken about it at all and most people dont even get that there is something edge related in my tattoo. When most people see XXX they think of porn which has made for a few funny comments from older people. I have lots of friends with very large edge tattoos who are no longer edge so think it through. Most of my friends who were once edge are no longer edge. Coming from Boston and going to shows in the late 90s with all the edge bands like In My Eyes and Ten Yard Fight it was the cool thing to get edge tattoos. A lot of people I know wish they had gotten tattoos without militant straightedge related themes in them.

I think a lot of people who are againt straightedge dont understand the true meaning of it. I think it depends greatly on where you come from. I grew up in Boston which along with Minor Threat in DC was where Straightedge really evolved. A lot of people have taken on the label of straightedge without a true understanding of what it means. I have been to SLC and attended shows there and a bunch of Mormon kids claiming edge (which is pretty pointless since they were raised not to drink and didnt make the choice) wanted to fight my buddy cause he had a beer in his hand. That is just pathetic to me.

I still get offended when I am lumped in with kids like that cause to me, being edge is more than just not drinking or smoking. A lot of it relates to my life in hardcore and what it has meant to me. I dont think I would be where I am today if I wasnt edge. A lot of my friends got caught up in a lot of bad things when we were younger. Without skiing and hardcore I dont think I would be in the position where I am in life.

To me getting an edge tattoo was as much a reminder of where I have been as what I am. It represents all the shows, friends, and places I have been thanks to hardcore. Just like the rest of my arm represents the 4 years I spent in college and going to sea on ships...a lot of people get nautical themed tattoos cause they are traditional.

Thats even more fashionable than getting straightedge tattoos. If you know the meaning behind a lot of tattoos you would think its silly when you see 18 year old kids from Ohio getting them. Swallows represented 5,000 miles traveled at sea. Anchors represent you sailed across the atlantic. Golden Dragons are you sailed the south pacific (China/Japan).

Straightedge has been latched on to by people with little understanding of the true history of it and that has diluted the true meaning of it to many. I still believe in what it means...to mean its more than tattoos, clothing, music...whatever.

Tattoos are all about fashion they are a permanent accessory. A lot of people get them because they like the art without an understanding of what it represents.

i grew up listening and watching to from here on in my buddies bonus room practice. that turned into between the buried and me which i don't think anyone can hate on. edge is not just not drinking and smoking, it's life. it has saved a lot of people from harming themselves. straight edge is one of few cults with a positive impact on the members life. (i hate the term "cult" and "member"). it's also a brotherhood. i am sure that if needed it another edge kid would help out. the fashion fucks that claim it to be cool suck and will sell out in two years when it becomes uncool. i hope the scene fucking dies. then all the real kids will come back to shows and make the music better.

Says the white suburbanite with the word nigga in his profile. I can think of something more pathetic than straightedge...how about little white kids from affluent communities that try to represent the hood by wearing their fubu and ecko. That is truly pathetic in my book.

In all the time I have been on this site I dont remember any straighedge kid talking trash on anyone who isnt edge. I believe most understand its a personal choice that not many people make. There are a lot more wannabee homies that talk smack on here than edge kids. How about you look in the mirror and after you realize that you are a joke to 99% of the world (apart from the other albino gangstas that is)...then and only then will I accept your opinions on what I tattoo on myself.
