I want to see how many people ride switch differently and the different techniques they use. For me it's over the right shoulder, right ski ahead of left ski.
depends what im skiing/ the speed. i switch sholders a lot for different stuff and when im carving i switch shoulders on turns depending which way im turning.
i cant say i have it down good but i usually look over which ever shoulder is easiest for that angle i need to get and switch which skis in front. i dont have a defined style for myself yet but im working on it. ill take some advice from this thread for sure.
Oh, my bad. I look over my right shoulder with right ski forward until right before hitting a jump at which point I switch to looking over my left shoulder and my left ski forward because I spin left.
I always look over my left. To get comfortable with high speeds when I was learning, I would just straigth line switch down the steepest part of the mountain. It was scary as hell at first but it helped me ride switch better at higher speeds. The carving switch part comes pretty easily!!
i switch shoulders when im carving with LOTS of feet staggering. for hitting somthin i just look over the right and straightline with my feet pretty even.
i bend my back all the way back until i can see where i'm going upside down, its so amazing, sometimes when i hit jumps i land wrong and break my spine
looking left, left foot in front of right, when i carve right i move my right foot slighty infront of left but still look left. spining switch right i look over right shoulder
it doesnt matter which shoulder i look over, wen im carving backwards i always change and i get dizzy, but i have to watch out for people so i have to keep turning my head
I love keeping my stance really staggered, its so much fun to do switch turns. Check out the bonus video in TBC if you have it, theres this one guy who hits this jump switch at night... hes got the most crazy staggered stance when he rides, and it looks awesome. I look mainly over my left shoulder, helps when i do switch butter 3's.
If im taking short skimpy turns ill stick to looking over my left shoulder, but when I'm taking nice wide, big carves ill switch shoulders, left turn, right should, vice-versa. And if I turn left my right ski goes behind my left ski a bit (inside ski = higher)
lead wit one foot like if ur going down the hill turning to ur right while ur switch look over ur right shoulderthen switch ur leading foot to left and look over left shoulder at first to slow down jut pizza
