Why Skiing Shouldn't Be in The Olympics

Here are my thoughts regarding slopestyle and superpipe in the Olympics. I'll probably piss a lot of people off on they way.
1. Skiing shouldn't be in the Olympics because all of the freestyle aeralistes could train for about one month for either even and then completely rule it. Sure they might not have style like Tanner, Pep or Eric Pollard but does that really matter when your throwing a Risky Flip or a double Rodeo. Sure style is great but it's not the only aspect in skiing. If so why didn't Eric Pollard win the X-games.
2. The press will become more interested which will put money into the sport thus making it more desirable for aeralists to leave and make money from FIS or whoever else jumps on the bandwagon.
Sure this might seem dumb to some and i'll proabably get hell but i had to bring it up. At the worst it'll be a good debate

good points, but I still think that Halfpipe would look so cool to see a really dedicated athelete who completley rocks at it.

the olympics are pathetic. they used to be respectable, but now, its just all bribery and shit like that. and i dont think you have to worry about arealist, cause you actually have to be able to ski to win slopestyle or pipe. they all Chinese gymnast.
Lets go skiing

yeah i agree with ya and want to add that i've always thought of the olympics as a more traditional event. I didn't think the addition of the snowboarder half pipe was that great because it was over-analyzed and just too controlled.
It would definetely throw lots of money into the sport but it would take away a lot of freedom and style from competition.
-just ski it

I think if we can get skier halfpipe like the sbowboarder's was, it will be great for the sport. They had control over it, and the riders went off. As for arialists winning, not a chance. Judges WANT to see style, not an ugly double misty. Yuck, sends shivers down my spine jst thinking about that.

Think of the publicity. Think of how many more skis and twin tip skis are going to be bought. I know a lot of people hate to see a kid falling on his ass on a pair of twin tips but when you're paying 1/2 as much on the new model of your favorite ski, that might make a difference. Not to mention when companies have more money they can get new machinery or new technicians and designers to make the skis even better.

FIS allows all off-axis jumps in moguls now up to 720° with grabs. Hell you can throw a backflip IF you have a grab. Slopestyle can't distinguish itself enough to warrant inclusion. Besides, another subjectively judged sport is NOT what the Olympics needs.
Bring on skiercross...imagine the carnage when an Olympic medal's on the line.

If skier halfpipe was run by the snowboarders association then it would be great but if it was run by FIS it would suck. No way a bunch of aerialists would rule pipe either. Its a totally different type of jumping. You cant practice halfpipe runs into pools either.

I do see how halfpipe could be hard for them but it also has very similar lip to the jumps they already hit. Skiercross would be killa

I think they need another organization besides fis, one that's owned and run by actual freeskiers who know the sport and live it, then if they did that and brought in skiers like the guys we know from movies and mags to do the comps that'd be great for the sport, if they did it any differently though it wouldn't be the same sport as we know and love it.

skiercross is already an FIS event and will most likely be in the next olympics. it would be the bomb to see ski superpipe in the olympics or even an FIS event but not slopestyle. snowboarding doesnt have slopestyle in FIS so i dont think skiing should have one too. it would be to hard to judge
