Connecting oldschool camera to comp

well i have a realy old school sony handy cam it is about 6-7 years old and it records on video hi8 tapes
i was wondering if there is any way for me to connect it to my comp thx

yes there is. I have sony that uses hi8, and you need a special thing called a capture device.you hook your camera up to the vcr through the rca cables. then you hook up the little device your going to buy and hook it up through the rca jacks in the back. after that you take the little device and stick it into the usb port. they have them at radio shack. or you could just go to target and buy a dvd burner for 200 big ones and burn your footy onto a dvd and put it right in your computer.

ya, get one of the usb capture devices... you can find some pretty cheap.

if you know someone witha digital 8 camera, your high 8 will play on it, and it has firewire (IEEE 1394), which will let you capture
