Why not go? they'll probably have some good prizes up for grabs and it should be a good throwdown.

we didnt have to pay any freestyle thing, it was just 30bucks, such a fun even, great weather, fun course, everyone was going off, and i won $100 it was sick as for results sr. mens ski final: 1st- stu biledou 2nd- brad (used to work at fresh, cant remeber last name) 3rd- mike henituk, 4th- me(ben gerwing) as for the other age divisions i cant remeber, all i know is that jr or w/e (14-16) was brett 2nd, brad 4th (i probably screwed those up lol)dave 3rd and cant remember name of guy in 1st

I am glad everyone had fun. It was an awesome day and beautiful out. I was really impressed with the skiers. Stu was easily the standout for the contest but 2nd through 6th was really tight. I can get all the scores if you are interested but I think it went like this.
1. Stu Bilodeau 90
2. Brad Stastook 84
3. Mike Hentiuk 83
4. Ben Gerwing 82
5. ??? Iasc 81 (can't remember his name)
6. Dave Stevenson 80
Wes fell in the final and the 8th guy in the final didn't finish though he threw a crazy trick off the top drop.
It was tough to judge because there were alot of big tricks over the big table, but not everyone hit or tricked over every feature.
The jr guys did really well, though I can't remeber names and scores. Watch out for those novice guys because they we really good as well. A few more pounds on them to get the big speed and they will throwing down.
The girls did well with Alaina Lorriman in first with a 57, Janina secong with 56 and unfortunately Lauren Gauss fell on her last run. She had the womens highest run of the day with 77, but buggered up her knee on the hip in the final.

sounds like it was a sweet comp..but heres something i've been sitting on for some time now...
how come the snowboard community has far more competitions that are more frequent and typically better organised than skiing??
they come up with some super original shit (such as the pipestyle that went down in whistler a week or so ago)...
i think the right people in the skiing world need to start coming up with some sweet comps or at least have more of whats already in place!
problem with the comps we have no is almost every ski comp is integrated with a snowboard one, which is fine for many, but generally doesn't work out 100%
am i the only one thinking these things??

a few peps half cabed the drop, there was some talk amongst riders saying they were thinking sw 5 but it was pretty sketchy for a sw 5, one crazy guy went into it switch and ldid like a 90 to front flip that was really crazy
