so, pics already uploaded to the dave's ibook... then i go to school to put what i want on computers with good printers... but camera wont even show up on the desktop, so i assume its cause the batterys low... come home, charge it, go to upload shit onto my crappy used-to-be-a-dell PC... but forgot that i changed file types from JPEG to RAW on the camera. now all my computer picks up while browsing files on the camera are the old JPEGs but the RAWs are nowhere to be found. any help?
you need a RAW reader program that handles the files from your particular camera. many cameras come with such a program. canon SLRs do. iphoto for mac does not read RAW files. Photoshop requires a plug-in for many cameras.
you need a SICK SICK machine to run that program smoothly and without crashing. even on the G5 dual processor towers with 2gb of ram i have at school, its not the best. technically my powerbook meets all the requirements, but it doesn't run well.
its a sick program on a beast of a machine though.
yeah i'll agree with you on that - i have a dual core 2.0ghz with 2 gigs of ram, and it can be pretty sluggish on my system, but then again i have anywhere from 12-20 programs going on at once (photoshop, illustrator, safari and itunes being notable ones).
