I've got a problem with Apple...I feel cheaped out and dirty...

I really do...Here's a quick run-down of my story....
I had a 15gig(non-click wheel) for a while. and loved it...wall charger, two cords, both worked...the whole shebang...no service plan...battery dies 2 years later...
I finally went to bestbuy tonight and got a video 60gig...and I'm actually a bit pissed.
Start by saying:
No more wall charger, or shell out the bucks for add-on(20-30 bucks)
Only usb2 cable, usb2 is poop, give me my firewire back...
So I use my old firewire cord to connect "firewire connections are't supported, charging only, use usb cable provided for transfers"
Fuck, I have a firewire card that works great, and a cable to match...but instead I'm stuck transfering 3300 songs via usb1.
Plus all the cords are shorter now too...
Pretty wack...anyone else feel this way...
Other than that I can't wait to get my music back...haha. I really don't hate iPod....

its because Apple designed the Ipod for their new Macs the PC is only an afterthought for them. on their macs the USB is in front and its USB 2 (thus the shorter cables) and they droped firewire 800 and only have firewire 400 which is slower than USB 2. plus USB 2 is pretty much the same as Firewire 800.

dude I have a dell DJ, the thing is like a brick, its so solid. I ran one over in a lawnmower on accident, and the thing kept playing. I bought another one because when i ran over the screen, it cracked. I got another, and have dropped it on concrete, fell on it skiing, and no damage has been done

ya i hear ya man, i still have my 1gen mini that i got a year and a half ago and i got a fuck load of acc. for it. my brother got a 2gen mini after and he got dick all with his, thats gay as hell that they are doing that. i guess apple is loosing money selling the ipod but making a fucking shit load selling all the acc. for them. a fucking docking tray that makes your ipod stand up wile charging for 60$can? fuck that. the apple marketing team must be making a killing becuase its fucking everyone else in the ass.

Yeah, whatever you guys do though buy the $60 applecare. Ipod batteries pretty much die after 2 years and then you can get the new one for free.

i have a 30 gig 2nd generation and it has 7000 songs on it and still holds a charge for around 3hrs...i love it

Yeah, I got a mini in July of 04, didnt get applecare.
The click wheel broke in February, sent it in and got a new one.
By the next October (05), the battery died and I was off warranty, even though the new one they gave me wasnt a year old.
My brothers 3rd gen also is shitty. It will play for 45 min then die. Who knows, maybe my family just overuses iPod's.

ok so I bought a 20gb ipod from best buy a year and a half ago, bought the 2 year $40 REPLACEMENT PLAN. The battery died recently and they sent me a $300 gift card, aight mad sick (well after it took a MONTH between when I sent it in and when I got it, but whatever) So I go to Best Buy and buy my 30gb video ipod and now the warrenty plan is 3 years and $50, BUT they only fix it instead of replacing it with a new one. My itrip no longer works on the video, plus I hear ya on the getting cheaped out a little, felt the same way when I opened mine. I dunno I guess I was kind of pissed I had to rebuy another warrenty because what was I gonna do, have it for another year and a half and have it die? I had no choice other than to pay $50 more dollars for a shittier warrenty. In the end getting a brand new ipod wasn't as good as it sounded.

haha you still have usb1 ports? Better to upgrade to usb2.0 cause thats pretty much what everything uses now adays. Even though we all love firewire its only used for video cams nowadays =(

fuck, my ipod mini is fucking up like crazy, the battery life jumps arround like a mexican flea, it randomly turns off and desplays the 'hey i decided to reset because you tried to change the song sign' the click wheel also skips arround like... my father with the remote control...

i have had doom played on my 1gen ipod mini, ive had another OS installed and run on it, i have taken it apart multiple times, changed the battery(it worked like fucking new after that by the way), and the only thing wrong with it is the protective plastic thing over the screen is cracked and when i reset it, it wont turn back on untill i plug it back in ( CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS, I CANT FIGURE IT OUT AND ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY)
