Enough With The LINE Hate - READ

Alright, I've had enough. Just cause the Invaders "sucked" this year doesn't mean everyone should automatically hate LINE, since most of you probably havnt read the 06-07 LINE thread, here's what a rep (or Levinthal himself, not sure) from LINE said about the Invaders and past years.

Sure, I own the Invaders, yes they have delamed a little, but I'm not complaining. Why? Because the ski is amazing, the edges underfoot havn't worn down a bit, the bases are scratched very little underneigth from the grass skiing on the east, and the random rocks on the limited amount of snow, and the ski rides great. The butter zone is really fun, it's not as soft as most people think it is, the Invader is sturdy. And the centermounted bindings provides for a fun park ski. Everyone that has tried out my skis (from racing Rossis, to Soloman 1080s) say that my skis are really fun. They provide for pop, and the length in the back keeps from slding out on backseat landings which tend to happen.
So what all the kids on NS are going to say is that the Invaders suck just because of a small cosmetic problem? and everyone's going to believe them, and LINE will loose valubal business? I sure hope not. And besides, what happened to everyone saying they don't care about the looks of their ski, it's the way it rides, not the topsheets' looks?
LINE's a core company and has been from the start, they helped progress twin-tips as far, if not more, than anyone else in the business. I know I will continue to buy their products. If anyone disagrees wiht me, saying "oh, well that's what you get for buying a 300 dollar pair of skis" I'll just reply, "Damn, I made out with a hell of a deal didn't I? As you're riding down the hill with your 600 dollar Armadas that are no better then the Invader.

^your and idiot the invader is so much diffrent then the fujative.
and some people on this thread are saying that the invader is the onley ski with durability issues this year.
i garentee you cant ride a volkl dogen more than 30 days with out it breaking.

I love this.. I dont care if my ski comes apart , i love line and jason levithal is my hero !!! I will ski my skis for 3 days and send them back for warranty and sit on my balls for a month untill my new skis come again so i can ski another 3 days. HAHAHAHA then you talk shit on other skis just to make yoursleves feel better. The invader was a bomb this year face it. A disposible ski. AND you fuckers all gave me shit when i had the truth 2 months before they went on the racks, who's laughing now you stupid fuckers.

as i already said, invaders are the only ski with problems this year. Next year they'll be tizight and all the park rats or whoever else wants to buy them will be happy

it's the only ski on the market that's fully symetrical, it has an eliptical sidecut which only one other ski has (the elizabeth), and it does have the doublethink edge and base that line makes, you hardly ever hear any other problems with them except delaming. and if you had skied both the invader and the fujative, you would feel the difference in the flex. but yeah, i have to agree with you, the chronic is the most durable park ski on the market.

the 80 mm underfoot i think makes them more a park ski than an all-mountain ski, but theyre still really good all-around. i think the chronic series is lines best so far and the anthem next year is going to be even better along with the chronic blend and the new chronic

They arn't crap my friend. Maybe you warned us, I didn't read the thread. But I'm happy with buying them, they're a fun ski. So if you hate LINE fine, deal with it on your own time, don't ruin LINE because they made one product wrong.

Apperently, most people don't care if they have a 6 inch piece of topsheet flapping around on their skis. Ironically, when you get a delam, water from snow gets in your core. This will ruin the core and change the flex pattern, and unless that is not considered a fucked ski, I would say that delaming is a problem.

The point everyone here is trying to make is, there is no reason to hate Line because they made 1 shitty ski. End of story. If you dont like the invader, great, but the issue here isnt if you like the invader or not, its people telling other people that they shouldnt buy anything Line anymore based on information they received hearsay. Make a decision for yourself. If you've ridden invaders and dont like them, then give your opinion. I personally have not ridden invaders and im not going to pretend i have.

oh no i dont hate LINE , i think there rad, i do hate excuses though .. all i want to hear is, We fucked up, good idea for the ski, bad idea to make more money by moving to asia for cheap labor.

i never said delaming wasn't a problem, just that it's was a problem in manufacturing on one model, but line skis in general are very durable. and my point that you don't hear of any other problems is a testament to line's good construction, i bet that next year, now that line has fixed the delam problem, the you will hear tons of great things aboubt the invaders instead of all the negativity about one problem, when there are many other good things about the ski, the people whodin't have delams loved the ski, and even the people who did said it was a good ride until the delam.

This thread was meant to die.

For the record, I skiied this years Invaders, but it is still too early to figure out the durablility of them. Honestly, I was not impressed by Lines shipping problems this year. If the Invaders in my area hold up, I will probably buy some after Christmas as my park ski.

No other ski ever had the butter zones, plus a totally symetrical flex and elliptical sidecut. It was/is very innovative. I've always backed LINE...never had a problem with the skis I've own from them. Last year some guy told me he was getting the LIBTECH N.A.S. - and when I told him I ride LINE he started saying all kinds of shit about them, saying that he thought they'd be out of business in a couple years and that they made totally shit products. Man, I let him have it. I told him that LINE kicked ass and were innovative as fuck, and that I'd keep buying the products as long as I was skiing because I loved them.

yea thats very true. line was trying out different things with the skis that year. apparently they fixed them too. i ride invaders and they ride pretty sick. and who cares about delam that much...there's a warrenty on them. you just bring them to your local shop and tell them what happened. i did that and they gave me a new pair for nothing. so stop hating on line

yea i like my lines they the old orange 177cm 1260's yea thats oldschool and no delam, a couple of broken edges obviously but thats gonna happen other than that no delam at all

Like other people said, LINE had issues last year with the Invader, they've been fixed, and none of the other LINE skis had any such problems. Alot of firt year production runs have problems, cause you can't predict every issue that will come up. They admitted they had problems with the Invader...they fixed it, end of story.

I have delammed 3 different pairs of 1260's each with less than 30 days. JLev saying that they have the lowest rate of warranty returns is either a lie or using favorable statistics, at least from their 1260 years. I can gurantee that per 1000 skis sold Line has some highest rates of delammed/snap skis. They might just not be warrantied (either the owner doesn't feel that he should return them, or the shop shuts them down and won't send them in), or they are offered a discount on a new set of skis.

Honestly, your blind loyalty in the face of obvious problems gives me a predilection towards writing you off as an idiot. I want skis that are fun, durable, and most of all work. The majority of last years Invaders had a problem in one form or another. It is ridiculous to state that Line was acting responcibly when they had the gall to ship a ski that obviously had not gone through enough product testing. The coincidence with their move to China was even harder to ignore. This is all in the past, but I feel fine about criticizing Line for essentially betraying the billions of people who bought Invaders by sacrificing on quality. It must be remembered as well that you get what you pay for, and $300 for skis doesn't really get you much.

And your blatant and unrelenting attacks on a ski that was a admitted by the company to have had issues makes me consider writing you off as the same. You are talking about one ski, one year. Name another LINE ski that had such issues...you can't, because there were none. LINE generally has a solid product, sometimes the skis suffer from unforseen problems, but it's idiotic to say that only applies to LINE, lots of other companys have had issues with skis in thier line-ups, particularly first year production runs. Don't hate the whole company because of one ski that had problems. None of the LINE's I've ever owned have had delam, or any other problems. I'll continue to buy the product and support the company unless they change my mind.
