ok, I have three problems left that I dunno how to do so if anyone could give me some guidance on how to do them or find the answers themselves then tell me how they did it would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much.
1. A small .5 kg block slides down a frictionless surface through height h=20 cm then sticks to a uniform rod of mass .1 kg and length 40 cm. the rod pivots about a point O through angle theta before momentarily stopping. find theta, given that the moment of inertia for a rod about an end point is 1/3ml^2.
2. When a motercyclist leaves the ground on a jump, if the throttle is left on so that the rear wheel spins faster, why does the front of the cycle rise up?
3. Two kids jillian and eddie are standing on the edge of an 8m diameter merry-go-round turntable. the turntable is mounted on frictionless bearings and has a mass of 500 kg. Jillian's mass is 30 kg and eddie's is 35 kg. jillian then begins to chass eddie about the edge of the turntable so that eddie's velocity is 4 m/s and jillians is 4.3 m/s compared to teh ground. what would the anglular velocity of the turntable be? if both kids then jumped off along a radial path and (once standing on the ground) applied a combined frictional force of 12 N on the edge of the merry go round against the direction of its motion, how much time would pass before the merry go round came to a stop? (For a cylinder I=.5mr^2).
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
