Jump Measurements

Hey,

So when people quote a 20/30/40 foot jump size, where does the length get measured from?

(length of table, from where you pop to where you land, the distance you travel etc)

im from australia so we measure shit in metres, so it is interesting to know -

When you say, "Duuude, you got like 60 feet of air," it means the distance from takeoff to landing. But a "40 foot jump" refers to the the length of the table.

Ok i think we can all agree on that, Now what about measuring a cliff, Do you measure takeoff to the base of the cliff or measure takeoff to landing?

I think it's usually referred to as the takeoff point to where the snow starts, and if it's covered in snow, you can just use the height with no snow in the summer..

well i live in suthern new york, if i lived in vermont i could find nice dropsand stuff, but i live only 60 miles north of new york city, so i rarely ski a real mountain
