Camera (photography) question

Alright, so I've taken 2 years of high-school photography, all black and white real film photography, but when i'm done in 3 months I will have seriously limited, if any, time in a darkroom...SO my question is should I just buy a digital SLR (leaning towards a Canon EOS-D5 or a Nikon D200 or D70, but open to suggestions) or should I stick with film and get a film scanner (in which case I'll have to buy a new camera cuz I've just been using one of my dads for class, so I'll need help there too)?
Any ideas would be great

depends on what you intend to shoot and how often. the ideal situation would be to buy both since film is slowing disapearing and digital is becoming the norm even though the quality difference is fairly substantial.

if you can afford a good digital slr, go for it, totally.. but I wouldn't stop doing b/w . there's something to be said about playing around in a dark room - it's too much fun.

get the SLR, because you can get a pretty good film later for not much. and Digital is where its at the moment. I like film, but I don't get anytime in the dark room anymore

since you will be doing some fast action shots im guessing a few of them will get screwed up, its cool having a digital because you can always delete the ones on the spot that you screwed up so you have room for later. Im no camera techie though.

yea^ unless you really can get a lot of time in the dark room your best bet is gonna be with an slr.

your better to get a fairly good camera. dont necessairly top of the line. but get some good lenses. lenses are just as important, if not more, as the camera.word to your mother.

im just trying to get decent features with as many megapixels as i can...thats why i like that canon (12.1 megapixel) and its not tooo pricey (around 2500 for the body, a 28mm lens and a 50-200mm...still, quite the investment)

don't spend that much on the body, which will be obsolete in a year.
Pick up a 20D or even a 10D, then spend your cash on some sweet lenses. an L series lense, or a nice Tamron lens will last you years and years.
