ive never ridin ar5s but chronis if u mount them correctly can be used for just about anywhere i belive. i think it has to do mostly with the way the bindings are mounted
im gunno have ot say that chronics are more all mountain and they are good in park and armadas are bascily park but now and days there getting more wide spread so i say if you more fortunate then other go for aramadas and if you need a good ski thats cheap go for chronics
i have ar5s and i love them for everything. haven't used them in pow yet but for ice, groomers, park, anything east coast they are the shit. really fast
ive demoed both and chronics are great for both go to http://www.skireviews.co.uk and check out the different graphs on them and see what you like the armadas dont carve as well
chronics held up awesome for the past two years ive had em...im contemplating moving away from line next year just to try out something else but i like my chronics so much and theyve held up so well that im scared to try any other brand and have em break...armada would be my next choice tho
i'd go with the chronics since your not in the park more than 75%, but i have chronic 178's and i dust racers down the hill, very fast no chatter...really poppy too
