Its a real pain in the ass too, cause I just can't explain it to people, they would think I was just kidding or trying to pass of my bad behavior to some excuse. And if I don't tell anyone and just try to stay away from them, they think I'm being an asshole. I'm not an asshole, but when I am around them, they think I'm being an asshole too because I don't care about their latest personal drama as much as they think I should. Really, who the fuck cares if so-ans-so's a jerk. The world is falling apart, but no-one but me seem to care, and now you're gonna heckle me for not caring about the fucking issurance company? Fuck...
... Nietzscheism here I come!!!

And then Noam Chomsky comes on the Cd I'm listening to telling me that I'm right. Ahhh... shit. Remember in Jurrasic Park, the mathimatican? When he says ''I hate always be right''. That's how I feel. So, yeah, you should all download some Noam Chomsky talking about America. Yeah... I'm fucked. Harvey, ban me.

Let's see if I have this straight... TAK, you think you're going insane because you're much more worried about the world going to shit, rather than the crap many people are worried about, like 'I have a zit' or 'I dunno if (insert random name here) likes me' or 'my teacher is a bitch', etc, and when others come to you and bitch about retarded shit you just don't care? No, you're not going insane, you're just seeing the bigger picture. But remember this: While to you others' issues seem trivial, they are nonetheless real issues for them.
I don't know if that made sense.

I hear ya TAK, this place we call the 'real world' is so fucked up. If aliens abducted me I'd be ashamed to tell them I lived here. It's sad what we've let it come to. But that's why there's skiing, right? To escape from the god forsaken real world.

if I'm not mistaken, Nieschize (I cant spell, don't hurt me) Is a figure in exenstentialism who states how we are all responsible for the human race's actions. I think that his statements were very bold, however, I dont nescessarily agree with him. I feel that I am responsible for myself, and if the oppurtunity arrises for me to change some feature that effects everyone, and I don't take it, THEN I am responsible. I mean, why should I be responsible for a massive group of individuals who think freely and choose freely. A simple example would be voting. If I don't vote, then I am not responsible for the actions of the politicians in office, but I can't complain either.
I believe, in a simple way, that we are here to enjoy ourselves. Not in a materialistic way, but to feel GOOD about ourselves. I would be just as happy working 9-5 at McDonalds as I would being a professional athlete, as long as I had a group of friends I could identify with and enjo myself with. After all, as I said before, why should we have to worry about a mass of individuals as a whole, when we have enough to worry about as ourselves.
Just my thoughts... I'm pretty new to the existential viewpoint, I'm reading The Stranger at the moment, and am moving off to Siddharta in a couple weeks...
Anybody have any other good books I could pick up? (not ones dealing with economics and the evils of capitalism please...)

Huh?
And by insane, I mean real insane. The people bitching is just a side effect not a cause. I think the world is all wrong. I know it. I'm so brilliant I know and no one will believe me becauce there all wrong! And besides the obvious existenilist similarities, I'm headed for Nietzche-hood because he writing was often critized by his collegues of being too lofty. He though he was a prophet. But he was right.

The people who are insane don't know it.

Nietzsche wasn't an existentialist. I took an Ethics/Philosophy class last semester and he was more something else. If you want to read more traditional existentialist stuff, read Jean Paul Sartre.

Thanks Ghostdragon, me thinks that thar be a valid point, ARRR.
And otherdude, good point, but its close enough for my purposes. I'm not really concerned with existentialism, but rather my interpretations of his pure will over the idol/ideal concepts as it relates to ''Outsiders.'' Peaceness all ya'll.

neitshze or watever the hell wrote a book on a crazy man who believed god had died and everyone was fucked. he ran around town yelling to people that we, the humans, had killed god through greed and disbelief and all those other kinds of bad things. he said that since we care less aobut others and shite that we had murdered god and shunned him from inside of us, so that all was waiting after death was shit. i learned all this like 5 months ago so im pretty sketched on the details but that's pretty much what it is.

TAK, you're insane, but not in the fun way. I think you need to go find a cult or a commune in which the women don't shave and the men don't wash. Crazy good times. Of course most kids go through this stage in grade seven... maybe you're a late bloomer.
Crazy dumbsaint of the mind.

andy: i just read siddhartha.. very good book. aside from it, you should read 'the outsider' by albert camus.. it was originally written in french, so u might have to search for 'l'etrange'. also, anything by douglas coupland gets my vote. i just finished 'life after god'.

Yeah, thats 'The Stranger' (The Camus one) I just finished reading it today actually... and i have siddhartha, I'm just finishing up a Tom Clancy book I've been meaning to finish before I start on another one...
and yeah, I was wrong about Nitzche (and I still cant spell)... who was the one that proclaimed that each human is responsible for the entire species... I remember that Nitzche was the 'God is dead' guy now...

Check out Hermann Hesse's Strppenwolf too. I hear it basically a treatise on 'The Outsider' type personality.
