generally you can find anything you want way cheaper than retail, and most bid prices shouldn't spike near the end. when you get it down you'll see you can place your final bid with like 10 sec left and shaft ppl
youll win if you have the highest bid when the time is over....all of my experiences on ebay have been great.. i lost my ipod wall charger, and found a new one for $1.49....shipping was 5$ but 6.49 for a ipod charger that hasnt broken yet isnt bad
really just try and keep track of the auctions your are interested in, make an account and use the watch this item feature. just wait until the auction is near ending to bid. bidding early on will just make the price go up and you wont be as likely to win the auction.
ive had nothing but good experiences with ebay, find users with positive feedback and they should be fine. dont make any deals with people to buy something outside of ebay, ebay gives you some security to get your money back or get your item in the event that the seller wants to try and screw you over. check out some ebay stores, they usually have many items with the buy it now option and everyone of them that ive bought from have been super helpful and always send me exaclty what i expect. most people arent on ebay to try and screw you so just read the item descriptions carefuly, look at seller feedback, look for pics or contact the seller to try and get more pics emailed to you, and contact the sellers before you bid if you have any questions(ive actually gotten shipping reduced by contacting the seller on items ive bid on and won). good luck and try not to get carried away.
Ebay has refined everything and is all around safe as far as I know... for smaller purchases anyways.
I buy tons of stuff off there.
Don't buy something right away, shop around for a week or more until you find a really really good deal.
