The scoring system for Fantasy Freeride is a bit vague on Freeskier's site, so I thought I'd fill yall in with some details.
Freeskier says: "Each contest is weighted, with the X-Games being 100% and every other competition a smaller percentage. Points are awarded to athletes on a sliding scale based on the following: Points Earned = 100 points * 0.75 to the power of (Rank - 1)."
The Xgames were worth 100%, so if you had Tanner in pipe he scored 100 points. Multiply this by 100%, and you still get 100 points. Easy math. But it gets more complicated. At the USFSO I had Sammy C who placed 2nd in slope. So he scored 100*.75^(2-1) points. Simplified thats 75 points. But alas! The USFSO was only worth 75% weight. That means I got 75*.75 points from Sammy, which equals about 56.
Now I know what you're thinking: this kid is lame and he should just go skiing. Well, Im in Maine and its 11pm and there isnt any snow for urbans because in Maine it rains in the winter. I know few of you are just as interested as I am in Fantasy Freeride. And you're asking the same question I did: what is each competition weighed at? None of the weights are posted on Freeskier. The truth is I've carefully tracked all of my athletes and the points I've scored in each competition in an Excel spreadsheet, and through this process have deduced what each comp was worth on my own. So far...
USFSO = 75%
XGames = 100%
American Freeski Tour #1 = 50%
Aspen Snowmass Open = 20%
American Freeski Tour #2 is coming up on March 4th. I suspect this will be worth 50% also, and trading will open soon next week. If you made it this far then maybe you really do care about Fantasy Freeride. I'll try to update this thread with competition weights as I track them, until Freeskier actually posts them on the actual Fantasy site.
Sorry if this is too intense for most of you. Good luck!
