Ok well, is it just me, or are Olympics Atheletes fucking pussys?? I mean, this one alpine woman, races like 2-3 days in a row(mostly downhill and super G so shes just going down the hill mainly) but she says "oh im too tired to do this today". My reaction "wow, pussy?" i mean, skiing 4 days in a row isnt THAT hard. And GOD DAMN its the fucking olympics GO BIG OR GO HOME FUCKAS!!!!! and now, the canadian ice dancing couple (first of all ice dancing WTF?) and she fell and got a bruise and she wont fucking compete. Its not like you're threating you're carrer ITS THE FUCKING OLYMPICS! you see skiers do comps all the time injured or after skiing multupule days. I have only have 5 words for these athletes droping out cause they are "tired" or "brused": SUCK IT UP YOU PUSSYS. The end.

Do you have any idea the hours and effort they put into training? They're going to get to the point of exhaustion where if they continue, THEY WILL GET HURT. So they miss 2 races instead of ending their careers with a stupid mistake. Think before you post.

You have obviously never skied a downhill or super G course in your life.
They take so much strength. go to your hill and tuck turn a 2.5 mile long run and then tell me if your sore the next day.
Please learn your stuff before you try to talk smack again. because you are dead wrong

I just think its fucking stupid how they do all of this training and shit for 4 YEARS and then they dont compete cause they have a bruise or they are too tired. Its fucking ridiculous.

I completly agree, have you ever raced a course, half the length of the olympic ones in your life?

read my post again. You'll understand why it's necessary to skip a race sometimes.

i understand how hard they train and stuff, but hoestly how do you manage to get to the olympics and get "to tired"? ive been tired while skiign before, but its better than not even trying. i dont really care though. maybe ill be there someday...

Lindsey Kildow sucked up a crash that put in the hospital and the next day she was racing

once again you are a dipshit. go google crashes from downhill skiing. those courses are hard to survive when skiers are on their A game. if they are bringing anything less and they cant hold a turn or stay contained in the air they could get Distroyed. just watch the downhill crashes and then go watch a ski movie crash section and tell me which ones look more brutial

you might understand better if you had ever attempted to ski a full downhill course.

Ok. well i might not know what its like to ski a full downhil course, but seriously if you fucking train for 4 years, you dont just skip it, you fucking power threw it like anything else.

Does nobody in this thread read any of the other posts? Seriously, any serious athlete knows that if you can't do something with full energy, you're going to be more apt to injure yourself moreso than if you take a day/game off and get back to full strength.

If they are in the olympics, they have already put in more effort than you ever will for a single goal. Im sure they would eat raw stinking shit for a chance at a gold medal, but if they feel that their bodys won't be able to handle it, why risk it, when they can just get stronger and come back better in 4 years.

you dipshit! most of the olympic athleats didn't make the team tell only a few months before the events (except the top guns like bode) but legity for example was 16 durring the last olympics and is only 20 now so he has not been training for 4 years for these games. he has been skiing on the worldcup tour and trying to just get a spot on the team.
once again learn before you talk

i dont know the whole situation with the girl from croatia, but come on...doesnt it seem a little sketchy to hear from an olympian "im too tired to ski the next day" i think niji makes a point here since they do train for a living.
i have friends who tried out for the olympics (greco-roman and freestyle wrestling) and what they would do is go 90 minutes alternating on 3 bodies, just exhausting all 3 who happen to be in top condition. olympians train to have this unreal stamina. back in the 1912 olympics, there was a wrestling match in the semifinals that went on for a world record 11-ish hours.. the guy who won ended up forfeiting the finals due to severe exhaustion.

I also don't know the story, but i would assume she has more reason than being a little tired.

another thing to think about, most of the olympic athletes dont really sleep during the olympics, theyre just too nervous to ever fall asleep. not sleeping, do anything to yourself and itll be sore...until you sleep (after the olympics for them). not to mention how ridiculously hard they carve on a sheet of ice, going ridiculously fast for a fairly long time...
