Season Ending Injuries

2 days ago i landed funny on my right thumb and sort of crushed it with my pole. I found out the next day that I had a fractured thumb and i would need surgery, not only did it suck that all that happened but i was having such a sick season and now its basically over... i was just wondering who else has this happened to and what did you do to survive without skiing?
What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?

you will still be able to ski its just a thumb not a leg think of the people that broke there legs don't wry you will ski again this year!

werd dude i know i consider myself really lucky like i didnt tear my acl, and this is the first thing i actually like broke... but it still sucks and kinda makes me a bit skpetical on how im gonna ski after its healed like being nervous and shit..
What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?

When I broke my wrist and was in a full arm cast and screwed up my ankle in December of last year, I cried over not being able to ski.

But life goes on.
You will survive.
Even with my injuries I went skiing two days later

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

I know how you feel...broke my wrist (both bones) Jan 12 and thought my season was over. The doc said it was over but after a week or so it stopped hurting and i;ve been skiing ever since. Don't always listen to MDs...they don't always have the answer. Don;t be stupid about it either, but make your own decisions. BTW, you probably won't be able to ski w/ poles but i can't either and believe me, my balance and form has improved tremendously b/c of it.
feel better...and ask for meds!!
