I went here during the summer and it was supposed to be a cool ski resort. THey had some sick runs and steep slopes cuz i took the chairlift to the top. Anyone ever heard of it or been there by chance?
Snowbowl would be sick if the Fucking Apache or whatever actually did something to the place... They put basicly no money into it. It still has putt putt double chairs, not to mention they dont go to the right parts of the mountain... Thier park sucks balls too.
They dont even have snowmaking, which would be pretty easy to do being there is a lake nearby to pump water from...
Its a sick mountain though, and if theres powder there is a lot of cool stuff to hit.
This year sucks for them though... they have barely got any snow...
It sucks though.. Because like every night there its below 30 degrees due to the elevation... they could make like 5 feet of machine snow a night if they went ahead with it...
There is a lake right near by, if they bought the rights to the water in it they could use it as a reservoir, kinda like Mt. High does in Southern California. They built a fatass reservoir at the top of the mountain and buy water and pump it up every year. Use it for snowmaking.
They just have to freaking do it.. It would be so profitable being the amount of people that go to Flagstaff every year... Its like the Arizona vacation spot because its at like 7000 feet and the temperature is ussually mild...
Go to their website guys- it says they had to get some agreement with the wildlife conversation corps or some shit like that. This time next year they should be making plenty of snow. Check it out.
The mountain is a ton of fun if you know where to go on it. I'll agree that the park is pretty weak, but when its a powder day the inner basin or upper bowl is where to be. Last year was actually a record year in snowfall, I think there was about 480inches during the season plus another 20-30 after it closed. Unfortunatly you never know when it will snow there. This year we have gotten 20 inches all season.
