Man what an interesting week. First off went skiing in Mont Tremblant 4 days before YGO with the school. Hit all the features with "Big Jer," not too bad. He pulled some 9s, and did some good switch ups on the boxes. I rocked the pipe, did some rails, and finaly learnt 720s ( yes i know, i suck).
Soo........after, we hit up Avila. We get to the park 3 days before the comp. Its snowing......good sign.........soo we think. It is wet snow, the kind that sticks to your skis, and under your wax. But we hit up the park anyways......and love it. Soo we ride as much as we can, to get a feel for the park......when the worse happens, jer dislocates his sholder on the trapazoid rail at the end, the night before the comp.
We wait till the next day to see if he even wanted to register. His arm was still fucked, but he wanted to try and ride. He was soo pumped to meet Mike Nick, Jason Leventhal, and Iannick B. Soo he put on his gray jersey.......and we ride. We had to wait for over an hour for the lift, since it was really cold and they had a hard time starting it.
Soo the park was closed up, and the run was open right beside it. So EVERYBODY was hitting this run. I had never seen so many new schoolers hit boxes at the same time. But more bad news, big jer can't feel his whole right arm. No comp for him. So we stayed and watched the comp, pretty awsome shit.......swtich 900 corks, bios, kids were going nuts. We did not stay for the end of the comp since we our ride was leaving, but we would come back that night for the " Mountain Dew Big Air Comp."
Soo i look back on it, and i noticed somethings. Mike Nick is one of the most awsome riders of our day, Jason is a pretty good riders for the person who started line, and no matter what anybody says Iannick B still rocks it. Looking forward to the next YGO.
