so i just read on cnn.com that The National Weather Service reported a 143 mph wind gust on top of Stratton, VT.

how nuts is that?!

Nope. HUGE winds in upstate NY and VT...147 in central VT and 75+ in NY...it was crazy...big widespread power outages.

i dunno if we reach those speeds but there are some pretty fast winds at my mtn.

you almost cant get down the hill with baggy clothes, its more like that the wind stops you and on almost flat slopes you can be blown back up.

i just came home from such a wind-day, believe me...

only place in east coast than holds wind records is mt washington in NH. otherwise you pussys dont know wind. mammoth is the king of wind. last winter one storm had 168 mph top gust with 132 average. can you even fucking imagine an average of 132? check out the movie BLUNT! where belnager & friends are leaning over the face at a crazy angle, and they still are held up by the wind. that shit is only 70 - 90mph tops.

that's something to be very proud about...i'm sure it's real awesome when it's bluebird and you can't ride cause there is 60 mph winds all the time!!! YAH!

no fuckin shit. anyone who has ever been to mammoth knows that it is either bluebird and 60F, overcast windy as hell and 40F or a blizzard at 25F.

wind can be your friend. i could be the shitiest season, without powder in a month, but the wind machine will deposit 1-2 feet of the smoothest windbuff/ hero snow on the right slopes.

the overhang in the front of my parents store blew away, it showed it on the news. we have another house that lost all its slate shingles on one side of the roof, a beam support for the porch fell over and went through a window, some of the slate from the roof went through some windows, the barn next to it got its doors blown out along with another door and part of a wall blew in, metal roofing came off and went flying, a tree got rooted out.

some people we know had a mini trailor with like bull sperm i guess that got flipped over.
