Replying to Short story for english:
heres a short story i wrote for english, it had to be told through letters. I forgot to proof read etc, so it's prolly a little messed up. here it is:
Paying Dues
Dear Max Silverstein,
I am writing to let you know that I stole your wallet. I deeply appreciate the $87 and change. Last night my friends had a great party and bought everyone at the bar a round. It was the best time I have had since before I dropped out of college, and I just thought you should know how good a use your money was put to.
Frankie
P.S. Looks like you have an great family and dog. Your wife is beautiful.
-----------------------------------------
Dear Frankie,
The money you stole from me was all I have. I also had my Home Depot employee ID in the wallet, and since my boss hates me, he used it as an excuse to fire me. My wife died of leukemia three years ago and I have since been raising my two children alone. The picture that was in the wallet was my favorite picture of her. I haven’t been able to find a job, and unless I find a way to meet rent this month, we’ll be evicted from our apartment. If this happens then DSS will most likely take my children from me and put them in a foster home. We needed what little money we had, and can’t afford to have it stolen. I’m begging you with all my heart to return what you took.
Sincerely,
Max Silverstein
-----------------------------------------
Max,
Look here you asshole. I didn’t need to write you that letter or anything, I did it out of the kindness of my heart. I don’t owe you anything, its your own damn fault that you can’t keep your pockets shut. Life isn’t fair bud, better get used to it. Don’t send me another letter moaning about your troubles, you think I don’t have hardships too? My dad cut off my trust fund because I got arrested for possession. My girlfriend dumped me, and the bank just repossessed my beamer, and I have to drive some piece of shit Yugo.
Frankie
---------------------------------------
Dear Frankie,
I think I sold you that Yugo. Are you the young man with the leather jacket and baseball hat? You think your life is hard because you’re driving that car, you’ve got a lot to learn. That car was the only car I’ve ever owned, it was my pride and joy. I had to sell it because I couldn’t afford the insurance anymore. Now my kids can’t even go to their friends houses if they live across town. I gave you a deal on that, even threw in a full tank of gas, because I thought you seemed like a nice kid. Guess that goes to show you can’t always trust what you see huh? Please do whatever you can to return my money, I promise you that as hard as your life seems now, my hungry kids need it more.
Sincerely,
Max Silverstein
-----------------------------------------
Dear Frankie,
It’s been two weeks and I haven’t heard back. I guess my last letter must have been lost in the mail. Please try and return what you can spare, my rent is due in a week. I’m really looking forward to putting this whole situation behind us.
Sincerely,
Max Silverstein
----------------------------------------
Frankie,
I know you must have received one of my recent letters. I am begging you once again to help me. I guess there is nothing I can do but hope that you feel the guilt weighing against your conscious and make this whole thing right.
Max Silverstein
---------------------------------------
Frankie,
I just thought you should know that DSS has taken my children away. I hold you accountable for this. They won’t let me talk to them anymore, and when I managed to see one of them after school he cried to me about their new foster homes. Your actions have torn apart our whole family, and I hope you remember that before you do such a thing again.
Max Silverstein
----------------------------------------
Dear Mr. Silverstein,
I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience my son has caused you. Please forgive him, he was just playing a foolish joke, you know how kids are. Enclosed is a check for $87. Hopefully we can put all this nonsense behind us. I do not expect any further letters from you, and feel that any culpability my son had in this matter has been resolved.
Regards,
Senator Frank Caprito
