Ok, I don't care if you're liberal, conservative, green party, libertarian, vegan, militia or communist. Global Warming is a hoax. It is snowing in California right now in places that haven't seen snow in in 50 years. Global climates follow trends and just because the last 50 years (just a drop in the bucket of time) has gotten warmer in SOME areas, does not give creedence to global warming bull puckey. Oh yeah, the whole in the Ozone Layer is there for a reason (the atmospheric pressure needs it) and it has actually been closing over the last 5 years.
So with that said, I'm going to drive my Range Rover up to the mountain tomorrow and ride a diesel powered chairlift all day. haha. Snow, snow, snow.

global warming isnt just warming temperatures, its a different and changing climate all together, thats why its snowing in places like claifornia and record snow in new york. Its because there climate is changing. Also the glaciers in greenland are melting at rates higher than we predicted. So, wether global warming is real or not is up to you, but we are defiantly destroying our earth.

GLobal warming doesn't necessarily mean that the entire world is getting warmer, it means we are getting more extreme weather than before. Thus, hotter in some places, colder in others. Read up on the subject before posting something stupid like this.

I believe you are looking at it from the "skier in denial of Global Warming" perspective.
The climate is changing gradually regardless of whether there are record snows in California or New York, glaciers, and more importantly ice caps are melting at a faster rate because the average temperature in the poles is increasing. As the climate shifts, there will be new snows and new droughts in places that don't have a history of them. California could have a dry year, and an extremely snowy year, and then a dry year. You can't extrapolate the snowfall from one year in California to explain the weather patterns of the entire globe. The ozone layer does have an effect on atmospheric pressure like you said, but it also means more of the Sun's radiation is permeating further into the atmosphere and causing the temperature of the earth to rise.

we will never run out of fossil fuels- they will be too expensive near the end. instead, hybrids, hydrogen, ethanol, whatever, will be cheaper and therefore cost effective. car companies are ready to implement it, its just too expensive right now. we will never run out, its a economics thing.
also interesting to note, i read an article (i forget where) about this crazy scientist guy who is known for going against the grain who has a theory that there is a limitless suply of oil deeper in the earth, and now, people are starting to agree. crazy. anyone else read that? perosnally i cant wait until everything switches to hydrogen, i think that is sweet.

This is what I don't get, if your doctor tells you that your blood pressure is too high, and you're going to die if you don't change your lifestyle, then you wouldn't argue with him. Sure you'd maybe seek a second opinion, but after the third or forth doctor, it'd be pretty clear you have a problem. So why do people think that they have a better understanding than the worlds top experts?

If they wanted to create a hoax in order to make more money, wouldn't they pick something more exciting than "the earth is slowly warming! if you don't do something your children will be fucked!" i hope i'm still skiing when i'm 60 or 70, and the trends that James Hansen, NASA's top scientist are predicting could have a very serious impact on skiing in that time frame. However, he does hold out some hope that we can slow and even stop these trends, but we need to take immediate action and level off greenhouse gas emissions within the next ten years. And I don't particularly want to be known as the generation of humans that completes the destruction of the earth.

it is natural for the planet's climate to change, there is more support for it being a natural cycle than climate shifting (what they call it now). If it is real then why are they have record low temps. in china and India, record snows in Japan and south america. Also look at the year CO and Whistler are having. Even if it is true we will be long gone before any affects are felt, screw the freeskier article

what support is this? the scientific community leans pretty strongly towards it being global warming, but the oil companies hire tons of "scientists" to prove otherwise. Further, any scientist that tries to speak out against global warming is muted by the US government, which is heavily dependent on the Oil industry for funding.

uh uh....global warming refers to the earths average temperature rising thus causing higher highs and lower lows resulting in horrible storms with the lows(reason for snow) and horrible hot arid dry conditions in tha highs(all the fuss when there is no snow)....pretty much its no different and you know what who tha fuck cares what we do to our planet we will have been dead for 100's of years before we start to see tha damage.....read up on the subject before posting......

We think we have a lot more power than we really do. There's no proof that these climate changes are a result of pollution. The earth's climate has always gone through changes, and I don't think mankind is powerful enough to alter the course of the earth's climate. Im not saying that pollution is okay, I drive a little honda, and try and conserve as much energy as possible, but i don't think there's any evidense of global warming as a result of human interferance.

Right now we are in a warming trend but I have also heard that we are in or are soon to be in a mini ice age. yea i know, a ski magazine puts out an article that squaw valley will have the smae snow that reno gets every year and now everyone is crpping their pants. if it is real,which it is not than anything that would happen wil happen way after we are gone. most of the states this year with skiing have had huge record amounts of snow, except the ne.I really see no reason at all to worry, the earth has cycles that happen over long periods of time, it might be possible that there has not been another recorded warming cycle in the last 200 yrs or so, because the people in the 1600 and 1700's probably had no clue if there was a warming cycle and if their was they liked it because they didnt have heating, so the earth has rythmic cycles that it goes through. all of this global warming crap is false i believe, i think its a push for the gov't to start pushing companies to create non fuel using cars like fuel cells so we are not reliabl on irag or saudi arabia or iran because if we gop to war with them then were screwed for oil and gas.

Global Warming isn't really so much a crazy thought, it's actually a well-accepted theory in the scientific community...just each person has their own timetables and thoughts on how detrimental it will be...
Yah it may be snowing in weird places right now, be mid-feburary and the East Coast has no snow, and 147 mile an hour winds, and Whistler is the snowiest it's been, it's all just different weather patterns....
But in short, Global Warming is a piece of the puzzle, and is not a hoax.

what some people on here need to get straight is that global warming is causing global climate change, this is gonna cause the temperate regions to get cold, and polor regions to get warmer, aswell as more extreme seasons, warmer summers, colder winters. for north america it all has to do with the gulf stream which makes the east coast waters ironically warmer than californian waters. The melting glaciers in greenland are stopped the underwater convator belt of warm and cold water so north america aswell as europe are gonna actually get colder

"global warming" is in fact sort of a hoax, but that doesnt mean that the earth isnt heating up. All the facts you read about glaciers melting, well its just half of the story. A high percentage of glaciers are also in growth stages at this point. Just like everything else, glaciers growing and receding, and the earth getting warmer and cooler, is part of a huge cycle. The earth is in fact getting warmer, but now its becoming clear that pollution has nothing to do with the bigger picture. The government won't officially change its tune because the concept of "global warming" keeps everyone in a state of fear, which is not necessarily a bad thing, because if it makes people more environmentally conscious, who's complaining.

I love how the human pride has convinced some of us that we're going to destroy the earth. We're so damn cocky that we think we actually have the power to wipe out this planet. The earth has been here for BILLIONS of years, withstood earthquake, fire, flood, meteor, ice ages etc. And we think that some plastic bags, and some CO2 in the atmosphere is going to kill it? i dont believe its global warming. winter is caused by the way the earth moves away from the sun so its colder. i think the earth is changin the direction it is in in the winter. i think the east is more towards the sun than it normally is so its hotter (someone said greenland glaciers are melting at paces faster then ever before. the west is not gettin hit by the sun as much and gettin record amount of snow. my science teacher and i were talkin about this she said the entire country was goin to get record amount of percepition prolly cause of all the hurricanes this year. east is gettin rain all the time and west is getting snow all the time

i also read somewhere its goin to seem like global warmin is happenin for a few years and get pretty hot but then rapidly go down and be like vise versa of global warming and have record snowfalls in the west and east. and also have longer seasons
