Will i catch an edge if a make a box or rail outta pbc?

haha, No you won't catch your edge on pbc, because the you'd more than likely actually use PVC. In that case, you'll probably catch an edge.

yeah, it cant hold the weight, so it will crack, especially in the cold, and that means kerplunk on the rail

it depends how you make it, if its a box with flat pvc have contact with wood underneath and it should work,just try not to be slamming down upon it.
with round rails, try and used small diameter pvc piping and run at least 2 shotgun style. again disasters and such will break it eventually. but aside from that andthat it doesntreally feel like metal, you should be ok.
