soo last night i was doing some 5s over this new table which is like 15' maybe 20' or so( i live in ohio) and i wanted to do a 7 but i couldnt spin fast enough? i wind up and i keep looking the way im spinning but i couldnt spin it no matter how high i went and how hard i winded up....there were some kids doing 9s of it so i know it was big enough..any suggestions....(dont be assholes)
regular 7's are easy to get around on small tables, it sounds like you are either not throwing it hard enough, or you arent committing enough. You might be slowing down your spin around 540 since you have been doing those the whole time.
bring your legs in, keep them next to eachother and bring in your arms, but dont' be all penciled out cause that looks dumb, but the trick is to lower your rotational moment of inertia (just keep your apendages close to your body)
I dont think tramp spinning is very accurate, because I can spin a 9 but I fall over on a tramp, but on skis due to the momentum or my sheer radness It can be stuck and ridden away without any problem. corking can be helped by trampolines but just flat spinning can only be helped by ballsing up and adding 180 after 180 to your rot.
Forget every other peice of advice, just keep looking over your shoulder past 540. You are used to looking at the landing at 450 or so and so you will slow down in the air. just keep looking over your shoulder until you are at 630.
Back to the original question...carve into it a little, pop more, throw harder, and keep your head turned and your shoulders open. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do a 7 off a 20 foot hit, though.
when I want to spin faster I open up right before the jump and then right as I'm comming off of it I bring my leggs back together and through my arm. check out my videos, the 3 and one of the 5s will show you how I go about doing it.
you dont need bigger jumps^^ wrong! make sure you set it and KEEP looking over that shoulder. hard! i was trying to do 5s and ended up doin a 7 that way. make sure you set it decently hard and keep looking thats the key. tuck up your legs to
other than the fact that this 15-20 footer is probably producing the most hucked looking 5s 7s and 9s and you should work on style, what you need to think about is maybe 2 360s instead of a 5 then a 180. When I do 7s I spot at 3 and then I turn another 360 and spot the 7 the same way I spot a 3. I do 5s differently than 3s and 7s...
make sure all youre envisioning in your mind is a 7. and i open up my legs when i pop like that too, and tuck my legs all the way up. just keep looking and itl come around
i was working on this too today. what i found was that you kinda have to cheat the spin at first. as you go towards the lip get set up, get your arms set and then as you pop throw the first 90. this will throw you into the first 180 very quickly and so long as you keep tucked you'll maintain your momentum. then just skip the 5 and lace a 7.
I think a key part of the whole thing is knowing when to spot your landing, when learning 7s I just did a 5 and didnt spot my landing, I kept my head looking over my shoulder until it came around to the front of me. Of course throwing your arms harder will actually get the sping to have a higher velocity.
do you ski at perfect.... cuase im having the EXACT same problem and i ski perfect and i was tryin off that second hit which boosts you i should be spinning 9's off that and i cant even get a 7 idk whats up how often u go i odnt really know anyone else that skis good i want someone who is also progressing maybe get better that way??? pm me
yea the 2 360 method is good...thats how i got bigger spins...and once u get a 7 down u should be able to 9 easy because i will see your landing. i think u might wanna try 9s on something bigger tho. 20 feet isnt going to cut it unless u want it to look like shit.
