Post Count Gone

yea i know, its been said before, but why not once more so that the mods get tired of it and maybe try it out for a bit. I say the post counts get gone once and for all. I know i have fallen victim to not even try and look at a small post count members thread because the person is a noob. Taking away the post count would stop this habit of most ns members. please take this into consideration when you do your reconstruction of ns.

no it wouldnt, it would take away the incentive to post. if you want to tell if someone is a newb or not look at their member # in their profile

yea lets say anyone under a year is a newb and have the thing next to post count go by that and not amount of posts

yea i have seen newbs who are extremely intelligent and i respect them just as much as anyone else...im on enough to pretty much know what im goin to get before clickin on a thread from alot of members...

i develop my respect based on quality of posts regardless of how many you have or how long you have been here so it really doesnt matter to me but i could see why it would to some!!

i usually skip names without icons too. when in doubt, i just hover my mouse over their name to see what member # they are, i almost never go by post count anyway, but its nice to have, just to know

i only really look at post count in the ski equipment thread to make sure they person is legit i guess. just to make sure theyre on ns quite a bit and arn't somebody's alias they made to rip you off

its easy to tell BS from the real thing. It also helps to use your own judgement on that. When someone ways Bode Miller is going to be riding armada's you know somethings fishy there.

Also when people are asking about ;07 gear in '05, they are asking to get their asses slagged because there is no reason beyond being a trend whore that you need to worry about gear they far away.

I can think of atleast a handful of people right away that have less then 50 posts and know more about the ski industry then 1/2 of NS combined.

i think its goot to know post count and date joined because particularly when buying or selling equipment with other NS users, i have more faith in those that have been here longer and are more active.

obviously that could all/probably will backfire on me, but i have more confidence dealing with a frequent user than not - (understanably, veryone has to start from zero posts at one point or another)

I only call noobs noobs if they say something retarded. I have mad respect for a couple kids on here who don't post very much, but I also have alot of people with really high post counts.
