It was so sick! Pretty much blew me away. I never thought I'd see that trick in moguls.
I saw him go past the 7 and I thought he was gonna do a 9, then all of a sudden its a 10!
The first trick he did was pretty much the exact same trick, but this was tucked up and crossed.
i was fkin blown away too, that 10 was out of no where, and it was def a d spin, not a back triple twist like some dude was saying. mad props for the balls. plus mad props too the aussie/canadian - his bump skiing left the rest for dead. his dspin 7 was fuckin wicked too if anyone saw it. huge, smooth and straight back into the bumps.
i can guarentee that it was a back double full (backflip with a 720 but spins a 1080) off the top air, and a d-spin 1080. I compete in moguls and hes been throqing that trick for a while and owns everyone with it.
youre a fucking idiot because it was steezed to fuck and also thrown to a gay flat moguls landing...just shows how wack the judging in that shit is when some faggot doing a quadruple spread or daffy wins over cork 7 to cork 10. that dude threw down
Dale Begg-Smiths run was pretty much flawless. He was leagues above the competition and seriously schooled the field.
Remember its "mogul skiing".. those two operative key words are what its all about.
Skiing moguls, and Begg-Smith skis them better than anyone currently out there competing.
However what pisses me off is that he was born here in Canada, was trained here in Canada, by some of the best coaches there are in the world (Canadian) and he skis for Australia simply because "he wasn't happy with the way the Canadian freestyle ski program was being run"
Basically he stole a medal from Canada, a gold medal at that.
Again, it is not big air, moguls is not about how steezy a trick looks you idiot. Jumps are only worth 25% anyway, if you want to see some wigger 'steeze' go watch Tanner Hall.
What event were you watching? No one in the Olympics did a spread, twister, daffy or combination of those tricks. Maybe you went back in time and saw the last Olympics by mistake.
But you are correct about how he threw down, and should have been rewarded more for it. His air scores were a full point lower than some of the other guys, and that is just wrong, even with an imperfect landing.
yall stop bitching the kids name is alex bilaudeau hes from Mt Avila the kid is mad he thru a cork 10 and a back in moguls and got robb should ov been on the podium a guy can win gold with a switch 10 at the x-gemes but gets in the olympics you get shit wen you do it ????
Where you watching, his 1080 d-spin was crossed up and tucked, yeah no grab but come on. The first hit was an aerial manuever, and it was dope. It think it was a doulbe full, though to me it was a upside down spiny thing while staying as straight as can be. That trick was unbelievable in a mogul run, especially off the first hit.
yeh, me too. they didnt even call the ten when he did it, and later one of them called an "of axis 720" which was just a straight crossed spin. they didnt have a clue.
and sorry canada, youre loss is our gain - the guy may have the personality of a dead fish, but the gold is coming back to oz.
Thats exactly how the olympics are. They use stupid names for tricks. They called it a helicopter if you crossed up your skis, thats such a 70s term.
Not to mention, the Olympics dont call Boardercross BOARDERCROSS. They call it SNOWWWboardercross. Makes the whole thing sound kinda old school... thats how the olympics are I guess... whatev. Just wait till our sport gets in there, we will steeze the olympics out straight up. Maybe even Tanner hall will make pot LEGAL in the olympics! haha.
Believe it or not, the reason behind that is because the name "Boardercross" is under some kind of copyright patent. Whoever started the original boardercross races back in the day (in the Swatch tour days) copyrighted the term "boardercross" so other organizations can't use the name or they will get sued.
HE chose to ski for Australia.
I will bet dollars to donuts that the Canadian freestyle team and the Canadian Ski federation are not pleased that he was not skiing for Canada, as they invested heavily in him during his formative years.
I was wondering the same thing. He wasn't even on the standings they showed on TV...
NOBODY needs to bitch about the judging of a mogul comp. All the athletes know exactly what they need to do to win because there's a set scoring system.
you are a fucking idiot man. He was never trained in Canada except when he was like 12 years old. He started an internet web design business and is now worth millions. He trains in Australia because he doesnt have to train as much so he can work on the web design business. He didnt steal anything from Canada im happy that hes in Australia because then he can give a medal in a non-australian sport to the country. so fuck you for thinking otherwise man get your fucking facts straight instead of listening to some kids blog on a fucking website.
Sorry, but you are totally wrong about that. He skied on the BC Freestyle team, and then the Canadian National development team until he was 17 or 18. He competed in Nor-Ams and even a few World Cups as a Canadian before leaving the system.
Maybe you should check your facts before posting and calling people names.
