I thought it was pretty lame of Bode to head out to his trailor (and stop for an interview in between) after he found out he was disqualified, and not cheer on his team member.... THAT'S 21. Then when Legity won every ski member picked him up in the air... besides Bode which was back in his warm rv bus. his head is gettin big
i understand where you are coming from but i mean come on i hated gettin dqed when i raced, and he prolly was cold, frustrated, and didnt want to be on camera all day after messin up in the OLYMPICS but im sure he showed suppoer to ligety later.
its an individual sport. He needs to get his shit together for the next race...not fuck around in the cold cheering for the new guy. He should have won a medal and didnt. any top athlete would have done the same thing.
Yea he may have appeared as an ass on camera but i'm sure he was there for ligety. I'm sure it's just he didn't want cameras pointing in his face after a DQ
It is not a team like football or baseball. It is a team comprised of individuals. Sure you want them to do well but when you are frustrated you go and do yer own thing.
Maybe he was angry, knew he would flip out and look bad in front of the camera and went back to the RV. Also, if bodie was watching, I think he would have drawn attention away from his teamate who deserved the spotlight
First off, anyone who is "disappointed" in Bode so far in these olympics, let's be real. Bode isn't a downhill skier, he's best in the technical events. And even in the technical events this season, he isn't doing that well, he's barely finished any slaloms at all this season. So don't be "disappointed" in Bode, and there's no way you can hate on him for walking to his trailed after getting DQ'd. Ligety did his thing, he didn't need Bode there cheering him on. Congrats to Ligety, he's got my vote in the slalom and possibly even the GS.
are you fucking kidding me... Bode isn't a downhill skier. lmfao. that's what he lives for downhill and super g. where does he come up with his gap in time every race...........??????????????????????????????????????????
Freeskier5x, shut the Hell up. Ok now that's out of the way, you all shouldn't even talk. Most of the people posting in this thread, or are going to post, are just making assumptions on just what they see on this year's Olympics- which has been proven already with earlier threads. Bode is argueably one of the best skiers in the world right now and he earned that. He came from a very humble backround of living on a farm and still does. He didn't go out and buy a massive house, a new cadillac when he became famous, he just kept living the life he lives. So if you think the fame is getting to his head, you can just go find the rustiest pair of scissors you can and dig as deep as possible into your wrists. Now to him cheering on his teammate, who gives a shit? IT'S AN INDIVIDUAL SPORT! It doesn't matter if they're on the US Ski Team, they're still out to do the best they can. So it's ok if they head back to their trailors after their run because what fucking good is it going to do a teammate if you stand out in the cold cheering them on? The best someone can do for the team is to go in and spend as much time possible preparing for the next race. Oh and don't mention any of the disconduct Bode has done (drinking, not showing up for inspections, etc.) because he's always done that, that's who he is. If anything you should be praising him because when he does his own thing he is going against all the hardasses that run the events, the hardasses that all you people constantly bitch about. So I guess the point I'm getting at is fuck off.
everyone's taking this sport far too seriously. Street went on ESPN and basically told Bode to grow up. she needs to pull the stick out of her ass and remember (along with most of the world) what skiing is about- enjoying yourself. i know from experience that ski racing has enormous potential to be no fun at all, which is why i no longer race. Bode loves to race and likes to have a good time. people are getting pissed at him because he said that he doesn't really care that he was DQ'd, etc, etc, and they think that displays a shitty attitude. personally, i think that attitude is exactly what young racers need to see- not an "i don't give a shit" attitude (which, despite what people are saying, ISN'T what his attitude is), but rather an "i fucked up, but that's ok because this is supposed to be FUN, so i'm not going to beat up on myself" attitude. Bode has to be one of the most misunderstood athletes of our time. when everyone else is so wrapped up in being the best, always winning, and shit like that, he's doing what he's always done- doing his best to have fun in a discipline that tends to stiffle that emotion. ski racing is too fucking serious and he's trying to change that. i think that 10 years from now most people are going to look back and forgive Bode for being an "asshole" or "arrogant" because he is doing things the way they should be done. skiing isn't supposed to make you stress out, get you pissed off, or ruin your day- it's supposed to be a great time that makes you want to come back for more. the racing world forgot that a long time ago and Bode is trying to give them a long-overdue wakeup call.
Didnt he get DQed on the first of 2 Slaom races? If so then why would he stay for like one hour in the cold at night when he could be relaxing and concentrating on his next race, seeing as he didnt do well in the DH ether
