Just cause you put something in quotes doesnt make it a fact. First id like to see the source, and second.. maybe explain it some.. and well 3rd... try the search bar because this has already been discussed...

I'm assuming you're trying to be funny.
I'm sick of saying this but so many people seem to believe this crap that it needs to be drilled into the collective NS brain.
There is no such thing as exhibition, demonstration, experimental (good one), etc. events any more at the Olympics.
The last time they did it was in 94. That's why all the sports to get in the Olympics in the last 10 years have NOT been exhibition events first. Eg; snowboard halfpipe, snowboardcross, etc.
If Ski Halfpipe gets in, it will be a medal event right from the start.

i dont care what you say, snowboarding and new school skiing dont belong in the olympics!! there new school sports that have their own olympics ( X games ) and they happen way more frequently then the real olympics. I say boo to putting us and snowboarding in the olympics.
Dont put our sport under restrictions like they did and still do freestyle moguls!! all you that wanna see it there, its a really bad idea!!

word...while im sure it would be nice for athletes to be rewarded with medals, the olympics are way too mainstream and overly gay for skiing...they can have snowboarding but leave skiers alone

Here's how to get it done, call up Oakley, Armada, Dynastar, Rossi, etc. and convince them to send their top skiers to the World Cup Halfpipe events.
Then, because the top skiers are there, everyone will want to watch those events.
Then when World Cup Halfpipe comps become huge crowd pleasing events with some of the best skiers in the World, the FIS will submit the event to the IOC for inclusion in the Olympics.

Agreed. Besides Americas parks are soo much better than any other countries park, its riduclous to have it in the olympics because who do you think is going to win all the medals? Its like putting log hurling in the olympics, sure a lot of countries can do it, but its mainly one countries particular sport.

^yeah, but if they put it in more people will learn about the sport. i remember someone putting up a post about a girl who said snowboarding was better just because Shaune White did two 1080s to win olympic gold and when he told her about tjs 1440, she didn't belive it. if it happend in the olimpics it would have been comman knowledge .

that is the dumbest thing ever said.. mainstream.. you must be an emo kid that tries to hard..
xgames are not our olympics... olympics=ever 4yrs.. xgames=every year. so basically its like the xgames are our world cup. downhill has a world cup every year and they are in the olympics..
besides.. ask any pro(snowboarder currently) that has been to the olympics and ask them if they think its mainstream to be in the olympics... they will say no.. and give you more of a resonse along the lines that you havent made it in your sport till you get olympic gold...

The x games arent skiings olympics cos there designed around viewing figures for a USA tv station. This makes them biased towards the US, only ever in one country, and it gives gay stuff like snowmobile racing priority. Oh yeah, the judgings way better in the snowboard olympic halfpipe than the x games one.

Honestly I don't understand how you can sit there and say don't put halfpipe skiing in the olympics. This is the olympics we're talking about guys, not the x-games, sure an x-games gold would be sick to win, but ask the pros now, I bet they tell you they'd rather have an olympic gold. And as for the whole putting our sport under restrictions thing, it's not like it's going to ruin skiing. Has it ruined the sport of snowboarding? Not at all, it's only made it bigger. Get halfpipe skiing in the olympics, there is no down side to this.
