i skied them last week. initially, the whole magnetraction thing is super goofy. it felt like i had no edge at high speed and i was gonna slide out and eat shit on every turn. after a few runs, however, i got used to the ski, and they were really cool. its a different feeling than that of a conventional ski. you really have to get used to it, but i think they are really onto something.
they work pretty good, they've still got a few kinks to work out which is natural for a snowboard company making skis for the first time, the main thing is the nose is super high and starts rising pretty far back in the ski which i'm sure is dope for powder, but makes it tricky to ride, especially center mounted because you have less running length infront of your foot than behind, making a ski that skis better switch than foreward, which is a plus or minus depending on how you look at it. The magna traction is interesting, didn't get to ski them on ice, but they held up fine on regular snow, nothing revolutionary though, in they park they have a good flex and it'd be interesting to see how they are in the halfpipe with those edges, i didn't get to boost with them because my foot was messed, but they held the tranny pretty well and had good life. These are wide skis, like if i were to ride them they'd probably be more of an all mountain/pow ski in the 185 length, but i think they have some other skis in the works too, it'll be interesting to see what they do in the future.
