DUMB SKI PATROL

at st anne this weekend me and my buddy both got our passes clipped for 'skiing downhill' the dumb frenchies couldnt even explain to us why they ripped our passes off. I am guessing it was cause we were skiing fast, but it was not like there were signs anywhere saying not bombing or any warnings. I was just pissed even tho it was my last run we both swore at the patrolers for being dumbasses but I was wondering if this ever happened to anyone else?
What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?

hmm. the patrollers hit jumps at blue. i like it when they come intop the park, but are helpless. i can go by them as fast as i want, without turning, going switch, sitting on the bcak of my skiis, and what can they do?

well its kinda a long story, but....

one time i was skiin with my friends and they had just opened the super pipe, and there was only one lift that u could get to it from. it was the race run lift, and it had a midway station to get off from that cut lift time in half, so we naturally got off there. the first few hours we were fine and nobody complained, but come shirft change, some bitch ass french liftie was working the midway station and started to yell at us. for 2 times we skied off and all he did was yell, but the 3rd time he ran out and told us he would take our passes if we skied down. he said we had to ride the lift up to the top because we werent racers. so we had to walk up this slippery wood plank, in our ski boots, to get back up to the chair platform and he wouldnt stop the lift. if we had tried to get on the chair while it was moving it would have been death so we just sat there yelling at him to stop the lift. all teh guy did was sit there and yell 'u get on the lift' in his frenchy acent. so finally he stopped it for us and we rode up, but on our way we noticed he was letting some boarders off the lift who werent on ne kind of team. we were gonna bitch at the guy but we went to the top of the mountain and smoked some bowls instead

well, if youve ever been to the badlands in blue mountain (the park) the line is rarely ever long..... im talking like 20 to 30 ppl in line when its most crowded, but normaly there is about 5 ppl in line (its a 2 seater btw) ...... well this french fuck liftie was blowing a fuse and yelling because ppl weren't pairing up for the lift, even though there was only like 10 ppl in line. i mean he was yelling his ass off, he was holding ppl back until they found a partner... it was really fagget

My local Mt is run by dumb rednecks. one day i hit a tiny bump and got some air and i got caught doing it lost by pass for that day. another time i got off the lift and i had my pole strapes on almost lost my pass but talked them out of it. the next day i got off the guy yelled at me for being a 'rich skier punk' then i told him off about how i work to get my stuff. Then like week ago i took a jump and kept going then a ski partol guy with straight skis cause thats all they can afford cuts me off making me go in the woods and yells at me for taking a jump. I hate that mt so much.

Yeh man there was a super-g (high speed) race going on this weekend and the patrollers were stopping anyone who went fast (or looked like a racer) ... like one of my friends was going super slow got stopped and clipped... fucking patrollers are so stupid; we may go fast but we know what we are doing...they should watch out for the gay beginer skiers in the expert hills about to get hit by me coming at the at 80km/h

The easy solution is to move to Whistler, where patrol just doesn't seem to care. I've never had a problem skiing there.

yah, i was at Okemo like a month ago, and our favorite bombing trail (ledges) was closed for some gay ass race allll day. then at like 1:00, they cancelled the race cause the fog was so bad, but kept the trail closed. my friends all had season passes, so they gave em to a chick to hold and i gaver her my ticket. we ducked the rope and bombed it. at the bottom, we got chased by these snowmobiles. we were goin so fast though they couldnt keep up. then i found $20 on the ground (didnt that make my story so much better?)

I usually ski at Timberline on Mt. Hood. I've got a season pass this year. Most of the patrolers there are volunteer...so they really don't give a shit. I rarely see patrolers in the park and I've never been clipped. The first time I was up this season I dropped a smaller cliff and hit a bunch of shitty snow. I wasn't leaning back far enough and I ate shit. My pole tip came from behind me and took a nice chunk of skin from the back of my head. I got up with blood ALL OVER me. Looked like I'd just murdered the shit out of someone. Ski patrol thought it was more funny than anything. They didn't care that I was dropping that cliff. That's the way all patrol should be.

i got another ski patrol story to add...

this past week it snowed like crazy, we must have gotten like 2 ft of fresh, so me and my friends, who have been starved of any good bc skiing wanted to go build a pow kicker, so today we hiked up this big face, we skied down and found the most perfect spot, good packing snow for the jump and an untouched landing, it had a gap of about 20 feet and the landing was so long u could travel a good 60 ft with a solid landing, so were piling the snow where were gonna build the jump, and wouldnt u know it, a ski patrol comes on down the mountain, he gives us some bullshit speech on how we need to knock it down because some jersey might come down and hit and hurt themself, but we were at the bottom of one of the steepest faces around and no tourist in their right mind would ski down it, so he forced us to knock it down and ruined what would have been a perfect day, it really blew

yeah, the patrollers at my mountain are like blindblinds's, couldn't care less what you do.
only time i've been screwed over by a partroler was when me and my other instructor friends, had been building jumps, we had a jump, and a slider made out of 50 gal. plastic barrels. he said we could only have one jump, and made us demolish either the jump or the slider

yah, one time a ski patroller tried to get us to tear down the jump we had worked so hard on, so we killed him. then we got one of those industrial meat slicers and sliced him into paper thin sheets, and put sheets of the ski patroller on every windshield in the parking lot, as if we were handing out flyers for chinese take out or something. it was so funny.

the ski patrol comes to us when me and my friends are riding the pipe and warns to rip our tickets because skis are not allowed in the half pipe because they think we push off with our poles to get air.

Yesterday, the park and pipe were closed because of this gay boarder comp. So me and some friends decide to build a jump. when we find a good spot and just get started some ski patrolers come and tell us about a better spot to build it were no patrolers will come by and tell you to knock it down. Those patrolers were cool.

at my hill our patrol used to be super gay...but now i guess they understand that newschoolin is here to stay so now we do what we like. all the patrol cares about nowadays is how drunk they can get during the all niter. plus like 3/4 of the patrol r my friends so its always fun. and when we build a jump or a tree jib we get 1 of our patrol friends to stand there and chill with us so everything looks legit.

We have one horrible patrol guy. He yells at us for EVERYTHING. Bar up too early on the chair, going to fast etc. Then the other ski patrollers are cool, we ski switch next to them and they think its cool.

One time a patoller stopped me caus ei was going mach 6 througha slow zone weavin in out of little childern and families and ollieing over people skis and shit....he threated to clip my pass

at my mt. they were building a new trial, and it wasnt all the way done so it wasnt open. But we just got like a foot of snow so me and my friend decided to go down it, and there were like fifty ski patrols waiting at the bottom to catch people goin down it. They clipped out pass's it sucked ass.

i have a simple solution for you all, just keep your pass in your jacket or sumtin. I let my pass hang off my pants on a chain, but when ever dong sumtin that i could remotely get yelled at for i slip it in my pocket. I was cought once for skiing to fast in a slow zone (which at stratton is practicall the whole place) and i had my pass in my pocket. i told the patroll that i had hiked up cause i could not afford a ticket. he gave me props for hiking up and then just told my to bring it down a notch. anyway, i really dont have any problems with patrolers, cause just put yourself in there position, if some kid get hurt, its a real pain in the ass.

ya they do have to fill out mass paper work when someone gets hurt...no to mention they have to get a tobagon and ski down with fat people in it. but some r on a power trip and r gay...but if ur like my dad u could care less about picking up bodies and more about driving the snow mobile around

yea, some of them are on a power trip, but whats cool is going to some smaller mountian like lets say magic mountain in vermont. the patroll there are so cool, they will poach trails with you, and even jump off the lif with you in that spot on the little red double above the really steep section. thats what being a patroll is all about.

basically, patrollers just wanna ski (most of them anyway). the less hassle for them the better. most of the patrollers i know just want you to ski with in your ability and to not endanger others. if you can bomb an uncrowded trail switch, then they say have fun.

i don't mind the patrolers its the stupid speed control people that i want to kill, i hate the ones on whistler, piss me off so much, you have to go like 20km down or they freak out. To make it worse if you going ripping by them they have a cop waiting for you at the bottom.

I just got to stick up for the patrolers...If you are doing stupid shit like bombing through low zones or stupid shit where there are a good amount of skiers then you probably deserve it...Guys they are looking out of accidents...and believe me when you break a leg or something you'll be kissin their asses...Most of them arent even paid...Thats why they have those signs re-cles-ness...you know what im talkin aboutJust straighten up and fly right and you'll be cool...If they take ur pass for no good reason the kick their ass, but say sorry before you do it...manners!

You were probably skiing way to fast and was to dangerous, you probabaly nearly killed 5 people on your way down. And you also sound like a poser - honestly who just 'bombs' a whole run unless they are in a desperate hurry. If you did that all day long you'll end up spending more time in the lift lines than you are actually skiing. Who pays $70 a day to stand in lift lines. if you want to go ridiculously fast, joing a race club or something!!!!

There is this one patroller at our hill that me and my friend call 'Super Stealth Patroller'. He will hide in trees and behind the tee bar poles to make sure everyone is staying on track on the tee bar and no one goes too fast down the run. The thing is everyone sees his orange jack behind the pole or through the trees. And when he tries to radio things in, the other patrollers just blow him off.

the ski patrol at louise last weekend tried to pull mine and like 8 of my friends pass's. the patroller just skied up to our group at the top of the park and pulled all our passes just because we were together at the top of the park. one of the guys didnt even ski down the same run. i got em back after complaining to managment, but i had to listen to 4 patrollers bitch at me for like 20 minutes. stupid nazi patrollers.

i have the explanation, the ski patrol two weekends ago was cliiping everybodys tickets because it was the 24 hour race, and youre not allowed to 'speed' they all want mad at st.annes

I got mine pulled for 'reckless behavior in liftlines and vulgar behavior towards others.' curious thing though considering there were no other people on the mountain, and I never skied through a liftline like he implied

That's what my friends told me, cause I wasn't there when he explained it. I bolted when he looked away from me, But the fucker held my friend's pass hostage until he got mine

i got my passed clipped at Apex for building a jump in the parking lot. there was this old 85 honada that had been there for a year so we turned it inot his jump. but as soon as the ski patroll found out they towed the car and buldozed the jump. and my pass was clipped.

Most of the time the only thing that ski patrol does at my mt. is ride over any jumps outside the park. But this one time, I was just about to do the park, and some ski patrol dude comes up to me and ask me to teach him how to do a 180 with a grab, it was the funniest thing ever watching this guy on like 200 cm strait skis trying a 180. It took hime like 8 or 9 tries to pull it off. No style but he landed. He just kept hiking back up and asking me for advice.
