Replying to Silly Salomon
I got thi email from salomon about the x-games, and it had the worst grammer from any company that I have seen, it's pretty hilarious.... here it is 'CANDIDE THOVEX WINS THE SUPER PIPE!
Really impressive, the kid from La Clusaz wins the Pipe event with a unique and matchless run. Today, King C was a notch above all the riders present… After the selection runs, 8 riders are chosen to compete in the finals, undoubtedly the best in the halftube’s freestyle world. CR Johnson’s qualification run is amazing with almost the maximum points scored. Unfortunately, the Californian rider won’t be so lucky in the finals as he fells during his first run, never succeeding after this to come back to his best. He finishes fourth behind Jon Olson and Tanner Hall who have also proved that the skier pipe is bound to become a leading sport. A nice surprise with the 16 year-old American rider Simon Dumont, freshly arrived in the Salomon team, who is easily qualified for the finals. His first jumps go really high but unfortunately he fells twice. No matter, Simon has proved that he will from now on have to be reckoned with...
Tension is at its most and the public is over excited when Candide starts his first run. He puts on his show and does enormous Tricks with perfect landings. His score is 94 points, the medal is as good as won, but his second run will be of the same kind with even more height. The crowd is in a frenzy when Candide rises 6 meters above the coping (airborne two whole seconds) for practically all his jumps. For your pleasure, here is what might be looked upon as one of the best Pipe runs to this day: Flair tail grab, reverse true tail, 900° dispin, alley oop flair tail grab, 720° dispin tail grab. The Gold Medal is in the hands of the French Jiber! Candide has just invented Super Pipe…
The US Open, the next major Freeski event of the season starts this Thuersday...'
-yeah, its kinda long, but read it, cause translations from French to English are great.
-If people don't want 'Posers' in their sport they should quit skiing and take up knitting. I highly doubt that anyone 'Poses' as a knitter. -Jibtech
