British troops beating Iraqis.

Whats the context? We have no clue what those people did before they were apprehended by the British troops. We don't know about the events that led up to what we saw in the video. Assuming one thing or another about those Iraqis is a pure lack of logic. It is justified if those Iraqis were endangering people.

grubix2, if you think that grown men don't cry...you haven't seen much. If someone is truly and deeply in fear or pain they will break down. It does not matter how mature or tough an individual is...ANYONE can be broken.

And everyone who supports those children getting beaten, answer this question. What is the result of that beating??? What did the beating accomplish? Besides pissing them off even more. If they really did something wrong, they should be wire tied and carried away. Then put on trial. Not taken behind a wall where they are held down and beaten.
If they were going to do that, they should've just killed them. You don't fuck with theses people. They have a centuries old history, of dying for what they believe in. They can be hit with a billy club all the soldiers want, but those soldiers can thank themselves when the next grenade is thrown into a bunker.

Was Timothy McVeigh treaded like that after the Oklahoma city bombing??? No. I'm not justifying what he did. But in the United States of America, criminals are apprehended, then put on a trial of their peers. After the trial, the appropriate action is taken. We are trying to convince the world that we installing this wonderful democracy in Iraq, but then something like this happens.

I didn't say those were adults. I didn't say they were kids either. I was making the point that either an adult or child could cry in that situation. It was a bit of a moot point, so I'm not going to drive it any further than what I have already said.

As for your general comment I will say this. Physical force is justifiable if the situation is appropriate. However, as I said before, none of us have any idea about that context of what happened in that video. The best this thread can muster is second-(or third, or even forth)-hand information. I'm not going to pass any judgement, rather I will just take it for what it is and let it pass.
