I present you with a pickle that I am in: Many of you may be familiar with the hip hop group Vowel Movements from their song Escape (the jimmy buffet remix at the end of the credits in Ski Movie 3, "If you like green marijuana..."). I was able to get a few other songs by them on Kazaa such as Like Thata and Eligible Bachelors, and they are all great songs. When I tried to buy their album on Amazon (or anywhere for that matter), there is nothing there. I can't even find anything about the group when I google it. What's the deal? Is Vowel Movements just some weird collaboration thing that only released a few songs or something?
I dont know. All i know is I got a CD from Ready Aim Fire with that song and the eligible Batchelors song and such. I dont know who the rest of the songs are by, but they could very well be VM. I'll check it out.
If you get the chance, check out black escalade by the vowel movements. Been one of my favorite hip hop songs for a while.
Not sure if that's the official name of it or not. But such a sick song.
And I am not so sure about the 'playmakaz' being them. Think that was just what some guy posted in order to promote his friend's band or something. You can read the playmakaz biography. I didn't catch any mention about 'vowel movementz' in there.
A little more commercial? They play in rap clubs around Flint, Michigan. They arent very big.
Nowhere on the myspace does it say they used to be Vowel Movementz although the green marijuana song is playing on there.
