what? the biggest table at loon is 50ish, but you say they have a 70 footer? and ive heard of a "chads gap of the east coast" at loon except rarely have i ever heard of anyone talk about it... where is it and how/when can i hit it
having skied loon for years, knwing most of the local park skiers and older rippers there, I have never heard anything about this. What do you know about it?
I headed up to Loon early season before they built the park and they where blowing massive mountains of snow. My buddies and I were talking about what they where going to do with all that and a dude that works at Loon over heard us and told us they are building a massive jump.
never heard of this chads gap of the east coast either, and frankly i cant think of spots that u can get enougth speed to clear a jump, because ud either need a tow in for it, or thsi gap is in the woods randomly without much of a inrun or landing
it was in some snowboard magazine a few months ago, it was in a spot check kind of thing and they wrote a little blurb on a few diff mountains and Loon was one of them, they said that Loon traditionally has one of the best parks on the east as well as the proverbial "chads gap of the east"... i wish someone had any clue as to where it was because it sounds like it would be sick, im sure someone knows but its probably somebody who has hit it and doesnt want anyone else to hit it, understandably so.
The only thing I can think is they were refering to the huge wooden handrail that is there. In fact, now that I think more about it, I am willing to bet this is exactly what they meant. There was a pic of Hibbert sliding it in freeze a few years ago, and I think it was in either second generation or strike three.
the loon rail is famous... but thats not it because its not a jump, if they were gonna make a reference they would have made a diff reference because comparing a 130 foot jump to a 50 foot handrail makes absolutely no sense
someone has to know about this chads gap of the east, i will pay handsomely for information, ill even coax a skiblader to guinea it so we can all laugh as he plummets to his death.
Knowing loon mtn very well, I can say that there really isn't anything or anywhere that could be a chad's gap type jump. there is nothing inbounds, and all of the out of bounds skiing is trees. I am pretty sure they're talking about the rail, and unless somone can show me exactly where this 'chad's gap' may be, I'm sticking with the rail.
Very early season as in had to take the lift back down to get to the base. Skier's left of the lodge there was a very mellow flat down, a barrel and towards the base of the lodge was a MASSIVE CHANNEL GAPPAGE!
what the fuck?... chill about what, i wasnt angry til i read your stupid shit. do you definitely know about every jump ever built. ask the vermont kids im sure theyve hit some big ass jumps hidden away and arent telling the world about it for a reason. im not positive the loon thing exists, although i wouldnt imagine snowboarder mag would publish something like that without reason either.
haha what? now you really do need to chill. ive been skiing at loon close to every weekend since i can remember. yes i prob do know waddup with just about everything AT LOON. i said nothing about knowing about "every jump ever built" and then i pretty much stopped reading your post after that.
If there is a massive hidden gap at loon, Steezy-E would probably know about it, as would I. I am pretty sure they are refering to the wooden rail. Think about it, a massive gnarly feature that is in the open, but not hit very often at all, and was 'epic' a few seasons back. I would be willing to put money down that it is the wooden rail.
off the topic of the jump cuz thats clearly going nowhere, has anyone actually hit the loon rail, and how the hell do you get a good run in for that cuz of that corner, and would you get kicked out for tryin it
