basically the same binding

I think more people buy Rossignol because it has been around much longer than Look. I got the Rossi bindings because the shop i baught my skis at didnt sell looks. Also, the Looks didnt have the girl that matched my skis.

correction, rossi makes looks
Rossi's parent group owns Rossi, and the Dynastar group (dynastar skis, lange boots, look bindings and kerma poles). you dont see it in twin tip skis, but in ther high end world cup equipment they share the same boards, just with differant graphics.

I looked at the new rossi bindings. It has a different pivot to it. The looks have a better pivot

I think the naked chick goes well with my ski, plus i didnt have the choice of buying Look at my shop. I dont really care how much they cost, my dad bought them for me.

This is the answer to all of your questions:
ROSSIGNOL OWNS DYNASTAR LOOK AND LANGE. Thats all folks.

Yeah, Rossi actually owns many more companies than that. But some people will still buy the rossi binders over the look ones, (even though they are identical), because it doubles the warranty of your Rossi skis. And that can be a big help when you are only talking a few bucks. It's like buying an extended warranty.
Oh yeah, and they have naked chicks on them.

well if rossi owns dynastar shouldn't it be the Rossignol Trouble Maker? weird that they still keep the name of two different companies and make different skis. Its like shooting yourself in the foot. Just keep the same range of skis under the one name thus less competition

or have a bunch of companies, that way people that don't like rossi buy dynastar, and the money goes to the same place anyways. Most people don't really know who owns what, or even care. Conglomerates are great for that kind of reason. It's not shooting yourself in the foot, it's broadening your profit opportunities

i think the look's are tighter anyway. i'd rather have them than the rossi's anyway, unless i had the scratch skis.

some of the rossi bindings have a mounter plate or something to that effect, that the looks don't, like th p12 look binding is just a toe and heel piece, the rossi freeride120 or whatever it is has a plate under the whole foot, makes it a tiny bit different.

yeah rossi bought look but look has been making bindings longer.
The same product, different name does happen a lot in biking. I a company doesnt make their own DH bike they give the team rider others with their decals:
Team Haro use Intense M1's for DH and Intense Tazers for slalom (well some are riding haros now)
Eric Carter of mongoose rides a Turner for DH
etc, etc

Yeah the rossi freeride 120s have a riser plate that runs the entire binding - they're a tight binding

hmmm salomon bindings good? haha what a joke, im tired of adjusting my toe pieces every five days cause they are always out of adjustment. PLus in order to stay in the damn thing i gotta crank my din up to 10, Looks/ Rossi's i don't have to touch at all, the recommended din is perfect. it comes out when i need it to.
Now Rossi is the sister comapny to look lange dynastar kerma. The thing is rossi has no say how dynastar/look/etc is run, they just take the good ideas and if they work market em, i.e. the rossi binding, as far as skis go all dynastars are handmade, rossis are machine made. they both use a pre-preg base. rossi just 'snatches' up the good ideas dynastar/etc... makes and promotes it them self. get it snatch? haha... oh that was a horrible pun

look rossi are the same. So are fischer bindings and salomon bindings. I also believe that most salomon skis are made by fischer. Raichle and kneissl boots are now the same.

Rossi does not own Dynastar/Lange/Look. They are owned by the same person, and a lot of the products put out by Dynastar/Lange/Look are taken by Rossi. In fact, all of the boots Rossi World Cup athletes have been on for (give or take) the past 5 years, have been Langes painted yellow. Last year, the boot Rossi actually sold in stores was a painted Lange. Lange loves it when Rossi does this.

petek i cant believe you said that. salomon skis made by fischer? hell no- salomon is it's own fucking company, they're actully operated by adidas, but no way does fischer make salomon skis. if anything its the other way around. and salomon bindings are good, look at the technology put into the toepieces on those, im sticking with salomon. i havent had one problme with mine, and i've heard of so many people complaining about rossi and look bindings. yeah rossi bindings work perfectly at the recommended din settings becuase the fuckers never release! salomons release when they're supposed to so you can avoid injury. lets remember that a good binding will stay on as well as come off when its supposed to. i love my salomon bindings and wouldnt trade them for anything else out there.

Adidas owns Salomon, and Fischer DOES make some of Salomon's models of skis. BTW if anyone here rides bikes or golfs, you might wanna know that the whole Adidas/Salomon thing includes Mavic and Taylor Made.

Fischer makes more skis than anybody in the world. Last year they made something like 3.5 to 4 million Alpine skis. They made Nordica's whole line of skis, Salomon's race skis, Volkl's race skis and a whole lot of other ones as well.
And Rossi and Dynastar are owned by the same guy, just like the guy that owns Tecnica owns Volkl, Nordica, Marker, Nitro and some other stuff.

you want the best bindings you go with markers! as far as all of the who owns what it all boils down to greed and being as close to a monopoly as you can legally be.

Does Line make their own skis? Yeah, but with help from Karhu. Nothing wrong with that. Does Armada make their own skis? Yeah, in a Quebec factory that was owned by Lacroix skis before(not 100% sure on that, but what the hell). It isn't cost effective for a ski company to do it all themselves anymore, once they reach a certain size. Ski presses, machinery, etc, all just cost too much. It might be unfortunate, but that's the way it works. Ride what works for you, and forget about the 'who makes what' bullshit.
