Well a "jock" usually tries to dominate an institution. i.e. A school or group. They pushy tough guy attitude is synominous with that of the racer. Thus "the jock of the hill."

i go to a ski school (i xc ski race) but a lot of my friends a races, and many racers are really cool. i have encountered many assholes though

I guess I'd be considered a jock, but I'm not an asshole or anything. I don't see what is wrong with being athletic. I guess it sucks for others when we get advantages or better grades or awards for what we do, but I've never been an asshole to a "nerd". so why hate on jocks?

i think what he means by jocks is someone whos also an asshole, not just an athletic person

There is nothing wrong with being athletic, I play a couple of sports myself but I'm not a pushy or physical person outside of sports. I just hate the domineering attitude. And as far as awards? There are way more awards as far as academics are concerned.
