ok first off you either need a firewire/ieee card/port, or a usb card/port. Firewire is better. Now you need an editing program. If you have a mac then you can use imovie, if you have a pc you'll want to download, or buy a program. Now depending on if you have a firewire or a usb port, drive down to best buy and say, I have a DV cam and a ______ port where are your cabels. You might want to take your camera as some of them have different ports(6 or 4 pin) Buy the cable, hook it up to your camera and computer. Run the editing program and then use the programs help to figure out how to capture video.

ok do not use USB, you can get a firewire (IEEE 1394) card and cable for really cheap $30, it goes in the back of your PC in a PCI slot, If your not serious about editing you can use the cheap software that comes with it, otherwise get Adobe Premiere
