I'm heading out to Fernie feb 21-25 with my college ski trip, and I'm looking to get some information on the conditions out at fernie, especially the park situation, since that isn't on their site. Also, some of my friends and I are 18, so we were wondering if you guys know of any bars that are lax on checking ID, since we don't want to stay in the hotel all night.
Hey there man, the park at the moment is sweet, nice and fast but when it snows it can be indifferent. Some super sick rails and all the kickers are pretty sweet, as for id there all pretty strict unless its quiet midweek.
so I'm finally not injured and I have skis that aren't broken. heard the snow in fernie is amazing right now, hopefully it'll last by the time I get there this weekend.
Well, while I was up there, the hiking that I saw was only open for our first day, which was before the recent snow, so I would guess that the hiking will depend on the conditions before you get there, as well as while you are there. Regardless, I'm sure you'll have a blast. My whole group sure did.
i have my days off on thursday and friday. if anyone is up here then we could go rip. but if not i'll be in the park working on the weekend through to those days the next week. I'd be keen to ski with y'all if you come out here anyway.
well. it poured here for 2 days. supposed to hit around 40cm tonight though. I just got home to fernie from panorama, skied three days there and it was a total blizzard, waist deep everyday. Too bad I fucked my knee over first run of the second day and had to sit in the lodge like a poser.
no, when I made that post it was pissing rain. when its snowing is dumping, or puking. rain is pouring. Hence the song, Its raining, its pouring, the old man is snoring.
there is the biggest trap rail ive ever seen up close...a 5 foot tall kid was standing beside it and his head wasnt even near it at the end of the rail, which is at the bottom of the down part
i heard that there is some freeski comp this weekend, and i am wondering what it is and where it's at on the mountain, if anyone knows, please respond, thanks
qualifiers are thursday on polar peak...go up white pass and it's the other side of the bowl. Semi and finals are probably on the lizard bowl headwall...go up the bear chair and the face lift..they're on friday and saturday.
