start with rails that aren't super steep and work your way to more steeper rails.

its pretty similar to flat rails, youll just get going faster. think about putting more weight on the downhill ski when your first starting out

the easiest way for me, and i don even have to go fast to do it so i can really plant them well is to look towards the end of the rail, it keeps u ahead of yourself more so u dont fall back

the way i do it is come up a little slower than u would for a flat rail and i dont pop as much

some times you can just step onto the rail. it's really easy and looks cool. you just lift the leg that's closes to the rail and just step onto it. after your on it just feels like a regular rail but you slid faster.

When i first did down rails, i would always fall off half way cause i would jump sideways too much, you def dont have to lean forward as much as you think(forward=sideways, not down the rail)

try going into it fast at first so you are sure you can make it onto the rail and then you can work your way up to going slowere and jumping/ollieing

lean a little more forward when you commit and look at the end of the rail (if it's straight) just try to ride it like you're side slipping, but keep your stance a little wider than normal and dont lean up the hill

hop on from the side, urban style. much trickier to master, but easy to at least bring yourself to trying it.

dont go too fast! i feel when i go slow i have alot more control but the most important thing is to get your feet centered and look at the end of the rail,... thats what i do

approach the rail slower than you would any other rail, unless the gap is bigger than a foot then you kind of use your own judgement.
getting onto the rail you want to be looking at the end of the rail and using your peripheals to look where and how your skis are landing as well.
when your on the rail, try to center your self and stay square, you dont really want to lean to either side any more than you would on any other rail.
my first time i tryed one i just tryed coming in from the side a bit and i found it a little less scary. but that rail was also set up street style so there was no gap onto it, which probably helped quite a bit.

are you talking about the type were they set up a normal jump to it or the type were its urban style and u can only get on from the sides

start on flat-to-down rails but pop a little at the kink so you get the feel of landing and sliding on the down.

comitt, lean downhill, and if you just comitt and go fast you'll be on and off before you know it. Speed really helps

try to just get on the rail like normal first, with a little more weight forward, and then adjust from there, once you are on it the things cake man, its just like a normal rail.
All times are Eastern (-5)
