Expected to reach more than 4,000 people, Mamafest offers a day filled with fun activities, all in the name of raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Educational booths, demos, raffles and the Mamajam slopestyle are just a few of the things happening that day. To top it all off, Mamafest 2006 will feature amazing local music from Mon Frere (winners of the Experience Music Project’s Sound Off Competition 2005), Speaker Speaker, and The Hollow Points, along with local DJs.
This 6th annual Mamafest follows in the footsteps of many fundraising events. Mamafest’s presence at the Capitol Hill Block Party, concerts at Chop Suey, partnership with various generous sponsors, and most recently in September of 2005, a snowboard movie premier with K2 Snowboarding and the Summit at Snoqualmie, have all created the momentum needed to continue raising awareness for this cause. Our relationship with K2 and The Summit has carried over to the Mamafest 2006 on-snow event.
Mamafest, in partnership with K2 and The Summit at Snoqualmie, hopes to raise over $30,000 through individual pledges, sponsorships and donations to help support the University of Washington Cancer Genetics Clinic and other local breast cancer organizations. If you’re interested in getting involved, visit Mamafest online at www.mamafest.org to start raising money and for the chance to win 1 of three snowboards donated by Ride Snowboards, the pledge drive sponsor.
Every year, Mamafest continues to exceed expectations of fun and funds raised for breast cancer research. This year is no different – especially since there is snow! Mamafest has snowboarding, skiing, live music, libations and lots of girls in bikini tops to show everyone just what we’re fighting for!
